So I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday about the battle between Sony and Toshiba, specifically, the issue of Blu-Ray vs Hi-Def.
From what I have gathered, since Toshiba has bowed out, hi-def will no longer be an option. Furthermore, Sony has said, "no porn on Blu-Ray." If his facts are correct (I presume they are, this is his forte), what does this mean for adult video producers that have invested in Hi-Def? What do you think will happen? |

How long do you think the no porn on Blu will last?

What about this stuff? Just quick research, but obviously of the limited replicators able to do Blu-Ray... somebody didn't get the memo... |
no matter what it will take some time to stream full screen hi def through the web....so it doesnt matter for us if no porn on blue ray....we are barely getting regular dvd in full screen online....unless its through iptv technology like our feeds ;-)

Somebody asked a few days ago about 'True High Def' on sites.
MaxCash are VERY clear that we have 'Higher Def' video. A few claimed they have TRUE High Def - Is that true? |
Sony already blinked on their no porn on Blu-Ray position...
LFP (Hustler), Digital Playground and others have already released adult titles in that format. I imagine Sony would have lost another format war if they nixed porn again. It won't matter much in a few years anyway, with a new multitude of delivery options opening up... ADG |

What I think will happen is DVDs of any type will be finished in about a year or so.
|
Sony will allow porn on Blu-Ray disks

There are people out there who still have SD analog screens... actuals tubes (gasp), and may just be getting out of the habit of their VHS favorites and slowly into DVD. DVDs will def be getting replaced, but a year is a lil quick to pronounce TOD. |

I spoke to a blu-ray rep at CES this year who told me that the rumor that there would be no blu-ray porn was blown out of proportion after a Disney replicating house stated they wouldn't work with adult content. shrug |

Is anyone pushing REAL High Def video? |

Back to the original question: Anyone who invested in Hi-Def needs to cut his losses and go to Blu-Ray. Sometimes you just have to go with the crowd.
|
thats a good question... I bet they will allow it
