it's official... I'm moving to New York!

Brooklyn to be exact :thumbsup

finding and getting approved for an apartment was a fucking odyssey but I did it! Before all you NY haters go crazy on me, go easy! Moving to NYC has been a dream of mine for a while and it's finally coming true so this is a pretty big deal for me.

So the big question is, is anyone hiring in NY? haha I'll still be doing my thing I do now but it'd be nice to get at least a part-time gig to force me to get out in the city. I'm a hermit here in Florida and I refuse to be one in NY!

where are all the New Yawkers??

WWC 02-23-2008 08:50 PM

yea of course.... I've never understood this whole people preferring hot over cold weather. When it's cold out, one has the option to layer and use appropriate clothing until warm. When it's hot out, the most you can do is get naked lol. What are you gonna do if you're still hot, rip your skin apart?

It's good that I don't really go out much in the winter being the geek I am. But my poor chihuahua girls don't get to go out either, it's way too cold for them

yea man I hear ya on that one. I'm giving up a lot down down and downgrading as far as living space but the way I see it and what I tell everyone, when paying rent in New York you're renting the whole experience of the City. You truly get so much in return.

Jim_Gunn 02-23-2008 09:39 PM

Damn, you couldn't pay me to move back to New York or New Jersey! When it's hot I stay in the central a/c or go for a swim!

candyflip 02-23-2008 09:50 PM

NYC is the one place winter is bearable. I moved back to NYC from Florida and was so occupied with anything and everything else that I didn't even think too much about the fact that my nuts were usually freezing.

GrouchyAdmin 02-23-2008 09:51 PM

Brooklyn, from Florida. You might as well just move to another country!

I agree.... I mean yea it gets cold, whatever... but nothing unbearable unless it's a blizzard or something which is a rarity.

candyflip 02-24-2008 10:22 AM

Less than $2k? Can you get a 1 bedroom for that little? We were over $2500 a month, but in the Village.

I agree with mike, in New Jersey they are pricing everyone out of the state, my taxes are close to 10K a year for my house, my car and bike insurance is through the roof and everything else is crazy expensive. I have about another year or so and then im out this area, i love NYC and everything it has to offer but i can always come back to visit.
