21 Zakk Wylde Ozzy, Black Label Society
Thats number 1 i think....... |
Yeah I would have put Eric Johnson closer to Satriani and Vai
|
60 Dave Navarro Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction
Now he is shooting porn like the rest of us! |
I don't think the jazz guys are getting their due in this list. Rock and blues people seem to get a better grade just because they play rock and blues. Where is Lee Ritenour? Joe Pass? Django Reinhardt? Pat Martino? Kenny Burrell? Charlie Byrd? John McLaughlin? Martin Taylor? Earl Klugh? These guys should be somewhere on the list and more. Just because a guy does rock doesn't mean he's better then someone who does jazz!
|
dave navarro is a bitch.

He got upset because I asked him if he got laid before he was a rock star. He went off saying how he could laid no matter what because he was so "confident" and that chicks dug his confidence and attitude. To prove to me that he was cool, he started making out with Nikki Hunter. BTW - this is all on video |
Having Robert Johnson at #51 is just fucked up and shows how backwards this list is. And where the hell is Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman or even Blondie Chaplin.

Hey people!
The list is in no order what so ever. |
The list seems quite ok if it's not ordered....Adrian van de Berg (WhiteSnake) is missing though
|
Jerry Garcia #87 and Trey Anastasio didn't even make the list?
I was surprised to see Phil Keaggy on the list. I didn't know he was that well knwon and appreciated. |
Jan Akkerman is also missing
|
|
|
Stochelo Rosenberg and Rezar Dominquez
|
nice list... I'd love to jam with ANY of those!
|
"greatest" is apparently a combination of ability, influence and popularity.
Someone like Holdsworth is so original and plays such difficult passages it would be very difficult for him to have more "influence". I'm with Hot Hard Cash that the jazz guys are underrepresented especially for ability and technique but of course jazz is less popular even though many of the jazz players were hugely influential (example: Dimeola influenced Yngwie who started a whole brand of guitar playing though it didn't last long). |
i love the ramones, but i think there are about 10,000 better guitar players than johnny ramone - lol
|
Brian May better than Santana? Wow :)
|
47 Dimebag Darrell Pantera, Damageplan
..... Hmmm |
I very much like a'Corky Buchek. You know, bing bong bing bong bing.
He not make a'list, I very disapoint. |

There are 100 guitarists out there better than many of the guys in that list. Or my favorite guitarist Steve Cropper http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Cropper Ace Frehley cannot play guitar better than Steve |
amazing how few people are able to read...
THE LIST IS IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER |
Damn Dude :) You know your shit. Did you make that list? The list is perfect. The "No in particular order" applies here

mick mars and nuno bettencourt should be in the top 10.
they got robbed. |
No Kerry King? No Chuck Schuldiner? phfffft
|
Great list but I certainly do not agree with Hendrix at #1.
Mitch |
Trey Anastasio deserved to be at least top 50 in there (in my opinion top 10)

Even if the list is no particular order where is John Fahey? (Mick Mars is on the list????)
|
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...her/bbking.jpgcouldn't agree more with bb king rounding off the top 10. best concert of this year:
|
Whaaat? No Esteban?
LOL Lame as fuk infomercials, but he is actually a very good classically trained guitarist. |
I don't think "The Edge" should be included in that list at all. Seems totally out of place.
Some of the other ones that aren't "technically" great are probably on the list because of their influence on other bands. Johnny Ramone, etc. |
14 Angus Young AC/DC
15 Les Paul Solo Is this a joke? Les Paul at number 15? IMHO, he should be in the first three. |
Jerry Cantrell at #94? LOL what a joke... He's better than half the guitarists on the list
|
Nice list. Some shouldn't be on there, though.
|
this list is crap Jeff Beck below Eddie Van Halen
|
hendrix is god
|
Thats a seriously Adam Jones free list :(
|
Great List bro, I can think of a few more to add like, Steve Gains and the skynard boys
