Anyone watching the plane landing on CNN

As of this second they said it has 10 more minutes to burn the fuel it has then is going to try and land.

It has no front landing gear. This is why the pilots get the big bucks...

Eva PSC 02-22-2008 01:20 PM

gotta have to tune into TV

atom 02-22-2008 01:21 PM

now they are saying the gear is deployed but there is some kind of problem. I am guessing CNN is lacking good news.

Brother Bilo 02-22-2008 01:22 PM

Why are they just showing the fire truck?! WTF

pornguy 02-22-2008 01:24 PM

damn. Sucks for the people on board.

pornask 02-22-2008 01:24 PM

Elli 02-22-2008 01:26 PM

Three airplane incidents in two days! Ottawa this morning, Venezuela yesterday, now this! It's almost enough to make a person want to take the train.

Not like that'll stop them from reporting or anything though.

Sebastian Sands 02-22-2008 01:30 PM

haxsyn 02-22-2008 01:31 PM

Topher49er 02-22-2008 01:31 PM

96ukssob 02-22-2008 01:32 PM

D 02-22-2008 01:33 PM

ETA: 10 mins. Nose gear door, they say. Cannot deploy.

Big_Red 02-22-2008 01:40 PM

Actually, I revoke that... the anchor had no idea what she was talking about, it seems.

That was a nice, delicate, landing. :thumbsup

Sebastian Sands 02-22-2008 01:44 PM

Elli 02-22-2008 01:44 PM

MasterKeyword 02-22-2008 01:44 PM

atom 02-22-2008 01:44 PM

Good deal, it landed safely. The pilot did a great job if there would have been a problem.

Matt 26z 02-22-2008 01:52 PM

As the plane was landing I found myself fighting off the small part of me that wanted to see something really big happen.

Domain Diva 02-22-2008 01:52 PM

Xrated J 02-22-2008 01:59 PM

RTP 02-22-2008 02:00 PM

Wheelie!

Rochard 02-22-2008 02:01 PM

What a beautiful landing....

Could you imagine taking off and being told your going to circle the airport for two hours to burn fuel because the landing gear isn't working and your making an emergency landing?

I wonder what they were all thinking during that time.....

this has happened to me before in a smaller plane.

nothing screams fun and joy like watching emergency crews on the ground from the air, running around in a panic and seeing all firetrucks and ambulances scramble around ... knowing its all for you.

good times.

NosMo 02-22-2008 04:54 PM

CNN once again makes a huge deal out of nothing......But the pilots did a great job.
