My buddy just told me that everyone is supposed to get $800 return automatically to stimulate the economy.....is this bullshit?

The amount you will get and IF you will be getting anything is based on your income, but yes the govt is sending out some $$ to help stimulate the economy. Retarded Idea if you ask me. The little they are sending won't do diddly shith to stimulate jack shit INMHO.:2 cents:

I just had a higher than normal return this year and it freaked me out. As nice as it is to get a check, fuck giving out a free loan to the govt all year.

the gov can send me 100k and I will stimulate the heck out of the economy. :)

I'm getting back just over a thousand, which is where my concern came in. Even when I was a full time student I never got a return like that. But, if this $800 ecomony booster was added in, putting me around 2 hundo, that's a bit more normal.

I read the rebates are beginning to be mailed starting in May thru July.

Where did the money come from? Did we borrow the money from China or are we printing the money to pay for this? Because we do not have any money just laying around waiting to be given away.

The quoted 800 dollars is more like 300 there is a calculator website floating around and what do you mean where is the money coming from? we paid in x amount all year they are just giving us a little extra of our own money to appear to be doing us a favor

I didnt feel like reading all the post, so if this has already been answered I apoligize. The sitimulus plan is seperate from your tax return. It will come like a rebate check sometimes after the middle of April. The government just recently sent the money to the IRS, but with it being tax season they are really backed up. The average rebate for single/no kids should be 600 married 1200, but if you didnt pay much taxes last year it ca vary as low as 300. Personally I think its an idiotic plan to help our economy, but Im not gonna bitch when I have an extra 600 to purchase my xbox 360.... I'm stimulating the country by buying an American consol!
