HD Video Content Help
Hey everyone, about to re-launch our main site with a ton of HD video updates. Starting to get a little peaved with sizes and formats. What do you guys recommend on the encoding level and sizes. What programs do you use. Or whats an ideal WMV size/format to use thats server friendly and high quality.
Thanks! |
Sorenson Squeeze 4.5, Cleaner XL 1.5 or Canopus Procoder 3 are the best full featured encoding apps for Windows. 1280 x 720 frame size on the large end, with at least a 3500 Kbps video bitrate or higher looks pretty nice; 480 x 270 if you want a small frame sized version at 1500 Kbps.
|
It has to be either 1280x720 or 1920x1080 to be HD. Any other video size is NOT HD. Use VBR around 4000 Kbps and windows encoder (free). The 1280x720p ones I make look awesome. I would never encode in 1920x1080 because the file size is outrageous.

As long as you have over 700 vertical lines your ok, and a bit rate at least 3-4k as mentioned. I agree encoding in 1080 is overkill, for web anyway.
