I want to relocate to Miami, FL

Waddup

I am looking into relocating to South Florida for business and personal reasons, can anybody suggest a nice area as close to the airport as possible in Miami.

I will be renting for the time being (aparts/condos are fine). Just need some pointers on where to look for a nice place with quick gateway. Holla...

Coral Gables,
Key Biscayne,
South Miami.

Why do you want to live close to the airport in Miami? How close are you talking, 10 min? 20 min? 30 min?

pornJester 10-06-2002 05:14 PM

South Florida is densely populated in that area.. there are dozens of cities/areas that can be deemed 'close to the airport'

The area immediately around the miami airport isn't exactly the greatest, but expressways make it easy to get there from most areas. Coral Gables is probably your closest good neighborhood but there are some places west of the airport that aren't terrible. Of course, you could always get a place in little havana and scope the cuban hotties from your front porch. Just make sure you get a place with bars on the windows and pack a spanish/english dictionary.

coconut grove is centrally located, and nice

dav555add 10-06-2002 07:12 PM

you want to live in western broward county
I75 north from miami, about 30 minutes
weston, bonaventure....
trust me, you don't want to live any where close to miami airport.

if you want better, try boca raton (90 minutes north of miami) it rocks

Pornwolf 10-06-2002 07:12 PM

Yeah, Coconut grove is the nicest most livable area right now in my opinion and it's just 20 minutes tops from MIA. South Beach is also just 20-25 minutes from the airport and the rent is really more inexpensive than you would expect. You can also get some really cool lofts downtown close to the American Airlines Arena for a great price renting or buying.

Dax 10-06-2002 07:23 PM

Yes, I forgot to add Coconut Grove.. but not all Cconut Grove is good.. You gotta be careful and choosy...

You also have the brickell area...

The places i have mentioned are if u want to live in Miami.. if u go north u can find other places... Broward County has some nice places, WestPalmBeach county does too...

Lofts huh? I might have to look into that.

Thanx everybody for your inputs. Really appreciate.

Yea,

Watch out for the South West Grove - it is the hood! Occassionally nick-named "crack alley," cops have been shot in the street on grand avenue. Center Grove prices are going up, but you can still find something walking distance from the bars, restaurants, clubs, movies, etc.... If you have some cash, then you can rent a nice house in north grove.

Depends on what you want to spend. Doral is on the west of the MIA, Coral Gables is South/southeast of MIA. Miami Springs has alot of rental homes and that is north/north east of the airport. Like a previous poster said, Miami is densely populated and any direction out of the airport will have decent housing. Look to spend 800-1000 minimum for a 2 bdr condo in a decent area.

Try Hollywood , Dania area 15 min from Ft lauderdale airport, 1/2 an hr north of Miami you can have the best of both worlds:2 cents:

I was hanging withsome friends in South Beach over the weekend and the rent prices aren't bad there at all....

Great neigbourhood for night life and shopping...though Coral Gables is defintely better for shopping.

Right on point... I'm looking into Fort Lauderdale as well now. It even seems that flights outta and into Fort Lauderdale airport are somewhat cheaper than MIA.

The only reason why I want to be close to the airport is that I'll be traveling even more through 2003. I've lived within 7 minutes to an airport before, and it was hella convenient.

You are right about the fares being less expensive out of Ft Lauderdale! I like the area personally, and that is where I am thinking of buying a condo next yr.
