Who competes with Ebay?
I would like to find another auction site that does things a little differently.
Like rotating all listings to the top of the page instead of only having "featured listing" there all the time. Some categories on ebay have 20-100 pages of featured listings before you even get to the regular listings. |
No one really.

I know they make a ton from the "featured" fee but something tells me they would make more by making more things sell. They show a million featured items, but they could probably show 50 million regualr items with a rotation in those spots. |
maybe bidz.com???

You can set search parameters.

http://www.bidtopia.com/ is a one.. They were E-bays top power seller but got tired of dealing with E-bay so they started their own site.

RISKY!!! But maybe it makes buyers be more agressive because they know it's going to sell. Yet that dosen't seem to matter much on ebay when I have no reserve. |
Yeah .. ebay is a fat monster .. They need a competitor.

overstock.com as well as ubid.com does the auction thing, dont know bout the rotating feature but doesnt hurt to check em out..

The only bad thing about using some of these other smaller auction sites is that you're auctions aren't gonna get the exposure that Ebay can give, thus, your items will more than likely sell for a lot less :(
The biggest thing I hate about Ebay is the way they raise their fees. They'll knock off like 5 cents from a listing fee and boast about it, then when you scroll down, you'll see that they raised up to final value fees enough that the 5 cent savings in listing isn't gonna do much when they pull more out of you when the auciton ends. |
