RedTube No Longer an Affiliate of TwistysCash

I'm going to do my best to keep this post short. ;)

Our policy as a company is that we will accept any affiliate who is willing to run an honest business and abide by our rules for sending signups to TwistysCash. This goes for TGPs, Blogs, Review Sites, Pay Sites AND Tube Sites.

Regarding RedTube: When we agreed to accept RedTube as an affiliate, he indicated he would follow our rules and WAS in the process of working towards becoming a legitimate site. We took his word for it and decided to give him a shot. Then on Friday, in a separate post, it was pointed out to me that Red Tube was breaking some of our rules. I checked it out and it was true - strike one. I contacted RedTube right away and had our Twistys content removed. He was very quick to fix the issues I brought up and asked to re-activate his affiliate links. I told him to wait.

I spent some time going through RedTube page by page, link by link. I was looking for ANY indication that he was sticking to his earlier promise - ANY attempt to evolve the site towards a cleaner more honest Tube site. But I found nothing. His videos are still 25 minutes long and they still give no credit to the copyright/site holder. Strikes two and three.

As of Friday afternoon, he has not sent us any traffic. We have decided we will NOT accept any more RedTube traffic until we are convinced he is taking the steps necessary to become a legitimate Tube site. Right now I see no signs of that so he is currently not an active TwistysCash affiliate. He is no longer permitted to use our videos and is not being paid for signups. However, as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, if he DOES take positive steps and demonstrates he is cleaning up his site, we will commence doing business with him again pending another review of RedTube.

Cheer's to another 12 pager!

Daruma 02-17-2008 08:49 PM

now if only the other advertisers there (and other tube sites) would take some action in the same direction..

papill0n 02-17-2008 08:49 PM

An EXCELLENT decision Shap. I associate the Twistys name with high quality porn and honest hard work. I know it must be a fucking nightmare dealing with content theft so hopefully RYC is able to help you with that and Twistys can continue to be the excellent program we all know it to be. :thumbsup

lol i guess you missed the other threads. :winkwink:

Kevsh 02-17-2008 09:03 PM

Okay, good call. But seriously, what made you think a guy who peddles stolen content would be trustworthy in the first place?

And of course, a devil's advocate might suggest:

A) The real reason you took the moral high ground was because he wasn't sending you any traffic anyway.

B) The people spoke and the bad publicity and feedback was the real reason.

notoldschool 02-17-2008 09:04 PM

now all your shits still gonna be on there without you making any money from it. LOL

L-Pink 02-17-2008 09:05 PM

Well done mate....

Zorgman 02-17-2008 09:13 PM

1. Thief steal content from sponsor
2. Sponsor asked theif to remove content
3. Thief contacts sponsor to make a deal
4. Sponsor agrees with specific rules
5. Thief agrees to the rules
6. Thief then brakes the rules
7. Sponsor finds out and drops thief.
8. Community happy!

Media, your right, Awesome turn of events.

clicker 02-17-2008 09:38 PM

If a site becomes popular because of stolen videos, why offer them a chance to clean up there act in the first place?? It is only a short term poor business decision imho. It just faciliates the root of the problem and will cause a long drawn out cluster fuck of more thieves and more free porn.

Brujah 02-17-2008 10:07 PM

Nice gesture.

It's just too bad that it really won't matter much except a loss in branding to you and whatever sales you were getting from them. You still deal with Brazzers I assume as a cross sell, which gives them a lot of sales to fund more and more Tube sites with that inevitably brand them instead.

I don't expect you to change that either. I mention it to illustrate that it's a difficult decision that AFF/Brazzers/etc.. put you guys in when they're less selective and run entirely different business models from a revenue stream standpoint than you.

We can safely assume a few things; your videos will continue to show up on these sites, they will continue to be funded by the usual cast of sponsors which enable them to exist in the first place, and that sites like yours will continue to make more money to the ones funding them. A to B to C.

Welcome back to the strong side, I was afraid you forgot who along with your hard work and point to quality made you famous. I like you again now.

Here is a legit tube site:
www.snizzshare.com

People need to stop fucking with redtube and take their funding away so they will be crushed by their bandwidth bill.

Oh yeah, my traffic is free, the clips are short, and I offer a ton of other bonuses to those who whose to walk on the legal side.

djroof 02-18-2008 12:03 AM

Thanks for the info

Zorgman 02-18-2008 12:04 AM

Jay, Im glad to see your site is doing so well. More sponsors should hit Jay up and get your stuff together.

Good to see so many good sponsors willing to sponsor the legit tube sites.

Iron Fist 02-18-2008 12:06 AM

V_RocKs 02-18-2008 02:16 AM

You tried and it looks like RedTube just hanged himself and set a precedent for others when it comes to trusting tube sites.

VeriSexy 02-18-2008 03:06 AM

Nice move on your part

donnylong 02-18-2008 03:14 AM

We had pornotube sending us traffic (we didn't even ask for it, they just did it) and it was like 0:60000 when we asked them to take the links off. Pornotube is a lot more legit than redtube too.

kane 02-18-2008 03:36 AM

This thread is one of the reasons I think most of these big tube sites will eventually fail and either go out of business or they will have to change how the site works and start using small clips. They have limited advertising options on them already because it is hard to sell memberships to porn sites when you give away hours of free porn movies every day. Eventually you have to assume these dating and cam sites will starts to stagnate. If people refuse to take their traffic, or their traffic is so crappy it doesn't convert how long can they maintain their current status without losing money?

Martin 02-18-2008 05:46 AM

I wish we could come together as a community to clean this business up. GFY has shown the power many times to make big changes happen. We could easily get things back on track and start seeing the paysite ratios return to normal again. We have given the surfer no reason to join paysites thus the reason why illegal Tube sites are so popular and why ratios are at best these days 1-3000.

xxxjay 02-18-2008 06:27 AM

The best way to deal with the tube sites is to cut all their sources of funding and let them hang themselves with their own bandwidth bill.

The VP of on of the major sponsors tells me that everytime they put out a message on the boards regarding a prepay, it is the tube sites that are the first ones to come running.

Not that this will ever happen, but if the entire industry makes a policy out of not dealing with them, we can win.

It just might be a bit of a mexican standoff!

shunga 02-18-2008 07:33 AM

Good move, Shap. If the bad tubes are to become legit there has to be leverage there to make them, and with people like www.removeyourcontent.com on your team you're adding to that leverage.

pornguy 02-18-2008 07:35 AM

Great work Shap, and thanks for stepping up the the plate..

xmas13 02-18-2008 07:45 AM

Luscious Media 02-18-2008 07:48 AM
