Never seen this happen before.
 

Was getting gas up in San Francisco before heading home. I noticed the guy at the pump next to me go up and appeared to pay the cashier. He then got in his car and started to take off.

All of a sudden I hear a pretty load pop and I look over to see that the guy had neglected to put the hose back on the pump and subsequently pulled it right off.

I thought that was a blond thing.

ouch, that cost him a pretty penny:Oh crap

It's a common thing.they usually have a break away device on the hose so you don't pull the pump with you

Yup that's one costly blonde moment.

i thought that only happened in movies. I guess people are dumber then they get credit for

I did not cut him any slack either . . . well, I refrained from taking a picture of it, but the commentary was free form.

I saw that happen once not too long ago as well, the blond, stopped, took the hose out of her car, put it next to the pump and took off.

I guess this happens on a regular basis and I assume it's not too difficult to reconnect, but that initial pop is a shock for sure.
