Does head hunting for models cost money?
 

Im having this awfully long argument with a webmaster, insisting that head hunting girls for content DOES NOT COST A PENNY.

I disagree.

What do you think? Hope to see ADG, WWC etcs reply on this thread.

im some what confuse about your argument, do you hunt for your girls on foot, or are you rideing around in your car, if so thats gas money, i myslef place an ad in the adult news paper.:error

I'm referring in general. Foot, car, ads, etc. I have been shooting for 3 years, and i was really surprised when a person approached me and asked me to headhunt girls for him and insist that it doesn't cost a buck. Not to mention he delusionally claimed he's the biggest content producer in asia. :disgust

i'd have started my own program 3 years ago but getting the girls seemed the hardest part

I would have been the marketing guy, another person the tech guy and SEO guy and we had some great plans for the program, but we had no idea on how to get the models :1orglaugh

we tried for a few weeks with some ads, but didnt get nowhere and then just quit that and everyone moved in his own direction

but i think, it simply depends on where you live and how much you are willing pay the girls so i can imagine in better circumstances it's a lot easier to recruit them

Your friend is delusional. If he thinks that it costs nothing to recruit new models, ask him to cast a half dozen hot girls for your next paid project on a specific day for free and see how many girls he can get to show up. Casting models on a regular basis costs money, one way or another, especially if you put a reasonable value on your time. Of course, one might be able to recruit a few girls that you met somewhere or that you know through other people without actually opening up your wallet. But if you film or do photo shoots every day or even every week, one is going to have to pay agents, pimps, run ads in the paper, subscribe to online modeling sites, pay money for referrals from other people, in or out of the biz or spend time and money out in the world and talking to strangers and using the force of your wonderful personality to recruit models. Any way you look at it it's a service that needs compensation, even if that compensation is as little as being a theoretical amortized cost as part of whatever other service you are providing at the same time, custom content production.

Of course it costs money, it takes time doesnt it? In this business finding talent is usually the photographer/producers job and trust me it consumes more of my day than I want it to. Tough part isnt finding them, its keeping them interested.
