My solution to the tube sites

Sponsors who care about their content should put a warning message at the beginning of their movie trailers, like "approved for all tube audiences".

Some examples below, so that you can see what I mean.

Then let it be known that all other videos that are shown on public sites that do not have this warning are illegal and will be persecuted by law.

I haven't seen one single movie that had such a notice in place.
If all major sponsors adopted this habit, the tube sites could be controlled.

hmm... a warning at the beginning of a trailer.

interesting idea.

that could never be edited out either.... besides, what kind of assholes would do that? no one that i can think of.

genius.

pure genius.

Hey at least this idiot is trying to fig out a solution! What have ya done lately? :pimp

Of course it can be edited out.

You did not get the point.

The sponsors would have to make it known that all clips that do not show the notice are illegal.
If they find a clip on a tube site without that notice, they could sue right away, as long as a standard is established.

Yeah, giving people who are doing illegal shit one more illegal thing to do
is definatley the solution.

there is a solution.

1) sponsors stop supporting them...
2) content owners start protecting their rights.

the success of tube sites are just more proof of what a bunch of apathetic, backwards idiots people in this biz are.

but then again, what can we expect from an industry that openly accepts theft and a wide range of deceptive practices... as long as the theif is a bro and buying drinks at the show.

Yeah that worked really well for Hollywood.

Zorgman 02-17-2008 09:41 AM

It's a good idea but could never be put into effect.
Sponsors are not going to edit every video just for tube sites.
And with something like my script, it users hosted movie galleries, so those would have to be edited to, but since their for galleries and not tubes -- that will not work.
