Where did you go for your VERY FIRST plane ride? (I'm going to Japan)
 

I'm 21 and have never been on a plane, but I have a buddy in college who is interning for a company in Japan (he's an aerospace engineer) and their setting him up with a company car and living arrangements so I'll be seeing him this spring for my first ever plane trip!!! Woooooo!! Basically just gotta pay for the ticket and nothing else (if you know of a good site to go through, let me know).

According to my baby book I flew from Dayton Ohio to Memphis Tennessee when I was 3 months old. I don't remember much of the trip ;) The first trip I can actually remember was again to Memphis - this time from Atlanta - when I was 4 and the first flight by myself.

Flew to Edmonton for the Commonwealth games in '78. I was 15.

Only a 2 hr flight though.

When I went to New York City. I was 18

I flew to Bergen, Norway, I must have been 10 or something.

first plane trip - to LA at 11 years old for a family occassion. traumatic trip - my 13 year old male cousin tried to molest me! i took care of him - not sexually though.

I would book first class if I were you. That is a hell of a long way to fly in coach. I could barely handle a 3 1/2 hour flight to Vegas. I can't believe how little space they give you, and how uncomfortable the seats are.

Japan is fun! Which city will you be going to?

If you're difficult with food you might find it a little hard at first, but if you're willing to try anything you'll have a blast.

It's weird that through the years I'm now able to sleep on a plane. We took the "cashing in your miles" special to Kona several years ago (my ticket was free and I paid for my son's) and I swear after 24 hours of the trip from hell getting home, I STILL couldn't sleep on the plane. The last trip to Vegas in Jan I slept all the way there and all the way back.

We flew on a DC-9 to Croatia when it was still part of Yugoslavia. I was 7 years old and had a great holiday.

BEST WAY TO FLY:
My flight to Costa Rica the first time (13 hours flight) i made myself drunk. And i sleeped till i landed in miami for a stopover after 9 hours. steward come to me and said i needed to put the stupid belt on. i asked him EEH WHY? he said we are landing. i was thinking how is that possible after some minutes.

I still ask myself how i passed passport control? maybe its because im a premium client at schiphol airport in the netherlands and theres not much control. premium access is going thru the IRIS SCAN and QUICK SCAN.

But normal i have a hard time to sleep. australlia (24 hours) i sleeped 20 hours total without any alochol.

the rest off my long flights i was happy if i could sleep for some minutes.

Japan is amazing! Better start eating in Japanese restaurants before you go so that your stomach is ready for the food! Otherwise, you'll be eating a lot of McDick's!

From Los Angeles to Cancun. It was an awful flight on this little mexican tin can of an airplane. It scarred me for life.

Mine wasn't as exciting...Maryland to St. Louis.

But my first trip out of the US was to Tokyo (Narita)....its like a different world. Everyone is friendly, and all the flight attendants are hot younger women. Not like the gay guys and bull-dykes (no offense) that you get on all US flights.

I don't remember my first flight.

I was less than 12 months old when we flied from China to Mexico, through Hawaii. (I was born in Hong Kong to Mexican parents. My family lived there for 4 years ). :thumbsup
