Digital Video Compression
I transferred some video from a DV tape to my harddrive using sonic foundry. Now I have 8 gigs of video on my pc. What is the best program to transform the AVI files into MPEG so i can put em up for you people to watch on the web??? Should I use premiere?
And... are they going to lose quality since I used Sonic to create AVI's out of the video? Should I Take them straight from Premiere to an MPEG? or can I just turn these AVI's into MPEGS with premiere??? Thanks in advance for the help!!! |
you open the avi in premiere and click file, then export clip then click save for web and you should be able to chose mpg

If you have 8 gigs worth you might do it faster by chopping up the files if you haven't already and using Cleaner 5.
You can batch compress all the files just like you can photos in Photoshop. Just drag all the avi's to one screen and set the compression and go watch some tv until they are done. |
Compress in DiVX5. You'll get kickass quality movies that are the same size as MPEGs.

With Ulead MediaStudio Pro you can set markers and have it cut the file to as many pieces as you want and convert it to any format you want... all in one easy batch process...

You used Sonic Foundry? Are you by chance reffering to Vegas Video (made by Sonic Foundy)
If so take your copy of Premiere and burn it. It's now useless to you. HAHAHA (JK) Seriously if you have Vegas it'll go to MPEG (or any other format for that matter) |
Vegas Rocks!!!
