NEVER buy from 1-800-FLOWERS

Am I the only one that got fucked by these guys today? should i call VISA and cancel?

I put 2 orders in with 1-800-flowers , 3 days ago.. today, both others went undelivered and after 20 calls to customers service , i finally got a live person that said 'sorry we cant give you status on your orders. if they arent delivered today, we will deliver tomorrow with an apology note'. they also offered me a $20 credit towards next order..

hey 1-800-FLOWERS.. GO FUCK YOURSELF..

I will make sure that everyone knows how much of a crappy operation they have on Valentine's day of all days.

support your local florist when you need flowers sent to someone or an occasion.

thats all,
/end rant.

Fap 02-14-2008 04:01 PM

Ive been warning against them fo awhile now!

Arkantiger 02-14-2008 04:03 PM

damn that is really fucked up man.. never had that problem

BradM 02-14-2008 04:04 PM

Why not place an order in advance, assuming everyone is doing what you are and placing an order right before the day? I'm sure they got completely overwhelmed and fucked. They have always been on the dot for delivery at non peak times for me.

That is BS. Call up your credit card company and file a dispute. It will fall under "item not as described" and then just explain that even though they delivered them, it was late and not delivered on the date promised. This made the product useless to you. It wont fix the current problem but you should get a full refund.

I think you've over estimated your own reach. You're not going to to let everyone, most people, some people or even .01% of people know.

You think? Here's some other great tips for life you might want to write down:

1) Remember to breath air
2) Don't lay face down in a pool of water
3) Downed live power lines are not toys for playing with

Sarah_Jayne 02-14-2008 04:09 PM

A few years ago I ordered mother's day flowers from them. They never arrived on the day despite paying extra for it to happen. After many calls they arrived a week late and mostly dead.

Gianna_CECash 02-14-2008 04:09 PM

That totally sucks:mad:

Q.F.E.

My personal experience with them differs, though. Never had a problem, but if I did, Brent's way is certain the best way to handle it from your perspective.

Compdoctor 02-14-2008 04:14 PM

Next time use proflowers.com, they kick ass in both delivery and support.

hey FUCKHEAD, I ordered 3 full days in advance, if they were 'OVERWHELMED' on Valentines day, they should have given a courtesy call. This was completely handled wrong.

Anyway, moral of the story is, when shit matters, dont goto the big guys.

Nice attempt at trolling. You should practice more

Tubestone 02-14-2008 04:19 PM

word!!!!

Fap 02-14-2008 04:21 PM

They did the SAME thing to my gf on her birthday, wound up getting to her 3 days late.

woj 02-14-2008 04:23 PM

Just cancel the order and/or charge back the purchase, fuck them..

g$$$ 02-14-2008 04:24 PM

yeah.1-800 flowers sucks. screwed up my orders at least 3-4 times
proflowers is better but not by much...

better to buy your flowers in person from a local stand if you can

cherrylula 02-14-2008 04:27 PM

That flower hotline has deals with flower shops and sends them the orders... so if you didn't get your delivery it is probably the shop closest to you that deals with them that fucked up. All florists deal with 1-800-flowers, 800 doesn't have their own stores. At least that is how it was 10+ years ago when I worked at a flower shop.

Voodoo 02-14-2008 04:28 PM

All of my orders got delivered.

Damn, Mom lied to me!

I have always found it easier to just walk in to the store pay cash and surprise the girl. But that is me. I go for the personal touch.

Fuckhead? It was a friendly suggestion. No need at all to be an asshole about it. Unless that's just how you act around people, personality disorders are common these days.

V_RocKs 02-14-2008 05:07 PM

Wow... I got woken up today by my GF at 10am with a blowjob...

Completely different set of circumstances for me and 1800Flowers I guess...

SkeetSkeet 02-14-2008 05:22 PM

we have used them more than a dozen times the last year or so ... never been unhappy so far

same here

actually they failed to deliver 1 time in the 10 years i have used them. They gave me a pretty generous credit for the inconvenience though. I was happy with the end result and how they handled it.

:2 cents:

BVF 02-14-2008 07:10 PM

It's better to walk into a florist and have them wire the order to wherever you need it.

tony286 02-14-2008 07:11 PM

I used them once had an awful experience.

comeplay 02-14-2008 07:23 PM

yeah really 3 days before isn't really "in advance"

Thurbs 02-14-2008 07:30 PM

yah i ordered flowers for my gf's sisters BDAY .. says delivered on that day. 2 days later, they tell me its not.

they dont try to finish the order, they keep my money and dont reply to emails or calls now

Spunky 02-14-2008 07:45 PM

After your g/f gets pissed off and fucks another dude because she didn't get your flowers..fuck them is right

Slick 02-14-2008 07:52 PM

Actually, I've used them many times to deliver flowers to an elderly aunt downstate and NEVER had a problem, my aunt was always happy and boasted how beautiful the flowers were.

The thing is though, it might not be all their fault. What they do is take your order then forward it to a florist in their network, so it's then their hands, not 1-800-flowers, then again, perhaps they should do better follow-ups on complaints with their florists.

Slick 02-14-2008 07:54 PM

One other option instead of using them would be to use the power of the internet to look for a florist in the area that the flowers need to be delivered to, usually they're more than happy to take a phone order from ya.

96ukssob 02-14-2008 08:26 PM

ive used them before during busy flower sending holidays and got screwed. they are good for about the other 360 days of the year to sent shit with.

instead, i find local florists in the area and call in the order and speak to someone personally. i ordered flowers to this girl's office that i am seeing and called and spoke to the lady about making sure it was there in a certain time window (even tho she was sick today and didnt go to work ). but when you have that advantage it will mostly work out for you.

sucks you got screwed by them tho

LiveDose 02-14-2008 08:44 PM

That happened to me with them about 10 years ago. 3 orders for family members. I didn't find out the orders were all delivered 2 days late till the following week.

They gave me the run around. Refused to give a refund but offered gift certificates as well.

Fuck that shit. One call to Amex and I charged the whole order back.

When you are being over charged to begin with they owe it to you to deliver when promised.

It's still the same way. The local flower shop dropped the ball, here.

NinjaSteve 02-14-2008 09:04 PM

That sounds really lame. I'd be super pissed as well, although I've never used them.

ungratefulninja 02-14-2008 10:09 PM

I had good luck with them the one time I used them. Wasn't on a major holiday. The local florist I generally used fucked up last year and the "guaranteed delivery before 5pm" turned into 8pm that night, well after both of us were already at home. If I would've known, I could have had someone else deliver them for me and save the $10 delivery fee.

aflex 02-15-2008 11:31 AM

just to update this..LOL

I canceled the order around 1am EST.. the customer service rep was understanding.. i asked "since its canceled now, if the orders get delivered, am i still responsible?" her reply was "no"

sure enough, my girl got her $160 flower arrangement today, a day late, but FREE..

justice for the little guy!

beemk 02-15-2008 11:31 AM

just tell your boyfriend what happened, im sure he will understand.

lol

but theres just some things best ordered outside the internet --> ie anything that can die

Barefootsies 02-15-2008 11:41 AM

L-Pink 02-15-2008 11:52 AM

Here is a guess as to what causes bad service.... The local florist gets a call/fax from 1 800 florist with your order. The order gets a low priority based on lower profit margin because of 1 800 florist's cut. Also probably delayed payment.

Why involve a middle man? Why involve the internet in what should be a personal gesture, if you can't go to a local florist at least call one.

TheAgent 02-15-2008 11:53 AM

1-800 is just a company who has contacts with florists in different areas

its pretty much just when you order they call a florist in your area, its a bullshit site to order stuff from

Napolean 02-15-2008 03:33 PM

I placed my order with 1-800-flowers 2 weeks ago and we just not got them a day late at 5pm, wilted with some of the heads of the flowers falling off =/

Yeah, never buying from these guys again

that's shitty

trix 02-15-2008 04:18 PM

What I do is call the local hospital and ask for local florist suggestions. Then do as they say. Works great, even for non-hospital occasions.

Edit- I know it worked in Las Vegas.

VeriSexy 02-15-2008 06:14 PM

Ouch.. I'd be pretty pissed too

D Ghost 02-15-2008 07:39 PM

Yeha, someone else warned me about them too
