need IT guru

Hi !

I just figured that i get about 15 000 pageviews per 20 minutes.

all this comes from this IP range:
195.91.54.80 - 195.91.54.88

8 damned IP's , i've searched for provider , that's mobile operator, who's maybe assigning only 8 IP's. these damned hits can overload my dual quad core.

I banned one of these 8 IP's , few hours after that i got message that someone can't load my site, i think if i ban all 8 ips, will ban a lot of people

I checked my users database and i see about 400 accounts created just from one of those damned IP's, it looks pretty real,
how can i ensure that it's real traffic, can i do something more ?

i'm planing to call to that operator, but i doubt they tell me something valuable.:upsidedow

drop them at firewall, or at the least apache

simple solution, just add:
deny from 195.91.54.80
deny from 195.91.54.81
deny from 195.91.54.82

etc to .htaccess file

but best contact your host, and ask them to block them with a firewall..

If it's a mobile operator, they usually assign one public IP to a load of customers - at least that's how it works with GPRS here in the UK, which results in pathetic latency because of the need to contend in a NAT-like system for a free public IP address.
