The W is in an excellent location, right next to the Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Gardens Park, and the Sony Metreon (you should check them all).

Let me know if you want to do lunch or dinner while you're up here - Jillian's is located close by (adjacent to the Metreon) and it is has reasonably priced food (plus an upscale sports bar and billiards), and San Francisco is reknown for many great restraurants...
