Anyone knows why my CD/DVD reader doesn?t recognise my CD/DVDs?

Hi, I have problems to copy movies to CDs or DVDs. When I try to copy a downloaded movie to a CD or a DVD, my copying program don?t recognise that there is a CD or DVD in the driver.
It says something like ?The driver is empty, please insert a re-writtable disk?.

I tried it with Nero and CDBurnerXP Pro3 with the same results. The thing is, when i put a DVD+RW, it does copy the movie. But other CDs or DVDs don?t work (CD/DVD-R, +R, -RW). I tried them in 2 different PCs with no luck.

I also have the problem that when I insert a DVD+RW which is partially used (to add more data to it), the program (Nero or CDBurner) says that the disk is full and I must enter an empty disk. And I have more than 3GB of space in that disk!

Any help or suggestion will be welcomed. Thanks a lot.
