Building a Media Player App, seeking input

So I have a background in building Desktop applications for managing media (audio and video).

I've been in the process of a new app I plan to distribute for free and am looking for a little input (there will be a business angle to the app evenutally, but initally just free).

The app is a combined Internet Browser, Media Player, Media Library app.

It is password protected to use the application. This prevents prying eyes from opening it, playing your files, viewing your bookmarks, etc. Good for home systems with a family, or work computers.

The browser allows you to simply browse sites, but your bookmarks are protected (via password access when you start the app), and it leaves no browsing history trail, or temp files. (So you don't have to do all that cleanup).

When you download files they are automatically placed into your library.

Your library again, is protected via the password scheme, so no one can see your 500 video porn list. The files themselves can be "cloaked". The filenames are mangled so that prying eyes can make no sense of them sitting on the desktop, and the files themselves can be made to only play inside the password protected player. Again preventing a snoop from just double-click playing them.

The library browsing is optimized for videos with sortable categories like actor/age/genre, etc. Genres can be customized for adult. This area is beneficial I believe since most media players are customized for music.

Lastly I can optionally add library features for photos as well.

Anyhow, that's the general idea for the app which I have partially built so far. I figured initially I'd make it a free download, yet would control the "home page" of the browser, and thus can place a few affiliate links which I can rotate.

Any thoughts? Has it already been done?

I personally would never use anything that made my browser do something even as minor as set my home page. I am fearful of anything that is capable of altering my browser.

Maybe I explained badly. You're using this app to browse the web INSTEAD of your traditional browser. The advantage is hidden bookmarks, and no trail left in history or temporary internet files. This is for shared or work computers where you don't necessarily want other people to know what you're looking at.
