The Porn Kingdom. All hail the King! (Content? Traffic? or ???)
 

There has been a long heated discussion about the "King" of the industry. Content or Traffic. I would like to expand on this for a moment. I came up with the saying "Content is King. Traffic is Queen. Together they can build a Kingdom.", however, in today's industry this needs to be broadened and redefined a tad. You heard it here first...

Content is King. Traffic is Queen. Transactions are the Castle. Industry is the Land. They are all part of a successful Kingdom.

All of these must exist and be functioning properly in order for this Kingdom to thrive.

Free Porn is a Leper. Diseased, and if you let them in, eventually the entire Kingdom will fall apart, limb by limb.

I can go on all night about this, however I think you get the point. We are all part of this industry and need to start pulling together. Working toward a common goal. If we stopped funding free porn, unless certain terms are met, if we start using our legal legs to run down the thieves as a whole. If we start qualifying our traffic and stop giving away the farm. If we start screening our affiliates for potential scammers / fraud. If we start policing ourselves as we've been talking about for years now. We might stand a chance of pulling out of this downward trend. If we don't start pulling together, we can expect a very rocky future for all of us. Free sites, paysites, tube sites... It doesn't matter at that point, it will all go away. Guaranteed. It takes WORK to do this. Everyone has to participate. Those who do not work toward the common goals of the industry, who are out for a quick buck and themselves should be shut out entirely.

We built this industry from the ground up. We'd be doing a disservice to ourselves and our trade if we just sit on our rich asses and watch it get torn apart and sent down the tubes.

Content might be king but the truth is you can sell dog poo online if you have enough traffic going to it although it would convert like, well, dog poo.

Regardless of how "suit and tie" people in this industry pretend to be, deep down this industry wears a renegade mentality which counter enables any unification that we can wish for. Every man for himself is the way its been and the way I see it ending one day. Eventually, either a government agency, or big business or emerging market with a serious plan will pick apart and manipulate our inability to unite and lobby together on any issue. This is the sad truth, and I do believe it.

However...
I am believer of content being King as well, dispite some of the pundits but what makes it king?
Kings only live so long, each photo, and video is a king in its own right and each has an age. What I am getting at is those that bring forward new content, and do the best to protect I believe would stand to gain alot in an individualised effort.

All the tube sites all the TGP's all the Galleries share the same fates, they thrive on what they can get and if people give them the newest and best stuff or release content to them far to early my belief is that it hurts the companies bottom line.

Monitization of content is important.
I do not see alot of guys out there doing this these days.

Tube sites have a really shitty ratio and it remains to be seen if it is worth the bandwidth for many of the guys jumping into the latest trend, tgp's got thier own issues as well, and there is a reason for it. Is it so much content that it is not worth signing upto? I think so certainly.
However some sponsors out there know how to tease and tease very very well and they do not blow thier content out there door's. This results in great ratio's for them and to boot mind blowing content.

Alot of traffic is great but if no one is buying one might want to look at what is being offered for sale.

watch as many "legitimate" bands of people in adult go to the dark side man, before it was a lot more hidden and not spoken of, now people like rude.com, pornhub, and the like will just shove a middle finger in your face and tell you to eat a shit biscuit

this industry could very well be imploding in a series of business model moves that people do not see are inevitably harmful but chosen because thats what everyone else is doing.
