On 06 Oct 1971, in Vietnam, the American soldier Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) is wounded by a bayonet during an attack to his platoon. He wakes up in a New York subway while going home late at night after working overtime in the post office. He is divorced from Sarah (Patricia Kalember), lives with his colleague and lover Jezebel (Elizabeth Peña) in a small Brooklyn apartment and misses his young son Gabe (Macaulay Culkin), who died in an accident for which Jacob feels responsible. During the next days, Jacob is chased by demons and finds the army conspiracy against him, while having strange visions during different moments of his life.

It's one of my favorite movies. One of the first great mind-fuck movies that helped start the trend of the 90's-today. Pay close attention to everything his chiropracter says.

listen to his advice. This movie is a classic, and pay attention to every detail. It all pays off, and will fuck with your head, and make you think about life. Scary, touching and beautiful.

Don't judge by the trailer. Most trailers from 20 years ago look corny today.

A movie that will having you going WTF to your WTF. Just when you think you know WTF is going on you spit out your drink and go WTF was that about.

Yes this is exactly what happens, but this leaves out the best moments that make this film bad ass the first time you watch it. Nice way of saying what happens without disclosing any spoilers. :thumbsup

Pretty good movie. Came out almost at the same time as Flatlinerz, another good film. One has nothing to do with the other, but both movies always remind me of each other.

It's a weird psycho movie, I didn't like it.

klinton 02-14-2008 04:47 AM

One of my favorites.

A newer movie "The Jacket" seems to have been influenced by it.
