I dont understand why people like this piece of shit show.
I dont understand why it had such high DVD sales!

The only reason i could possibly see people liking it is because of stephen colbert nothing else.

Anyone else have thoughts?

I liked it, but yah, mostly cause of Colbert.

I would have to be really high.... maybe a beer or twelve... and be up for two days...

tv is full of it these days

intelligent drama that makes people think gets cancelled in one season, while brainless idiot proof programming stays for 3-4 seasons

ya, I never thought it was very funny. Although, I think some of the cast came from the show the State, I think that was the name, and they had a couple funny ass skits on there. There was one were this kid had a huge dick and the parents made him wear a big innertube around his waste so it wouldn't hit him in the face when he ran. Probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Never heard of it but it sounds kinda funny.. only if strangers with candy could have been funny..

Arrested Development was too smart for the mindless idiots that watch comedy shows, you actually had to think and rewind (if you have tivo) parts of it just to get the humor...and the more you watch the funnier it gets

I blame it all on "there's something about mary", it started this whole idiot proof tv revolution....there isn't a fucking dumber comedy on the planet than that movie, and it was watched by billions of people who thought it was genious

What's for you to understand? You don't like it. Why do you feel you need to understand why someone else might? Obviously, people do.

I think Meet The Parents should be in the same category

yup, sure is...pretty much any comedy that ben stiller does falls into that category...sad too, because he is such an amazing drama actor, yet he always does those crap comedies

with the average IQ in the world being what it is, there is no deep thought as to why people enjoy crap like that

that one was fun because it was more like a kids movie than anything, kids movies are in a different genre I would think....

Along came polly was kinda garbage, he had good movies:
Dodgeball, Starsky & Hutch, Zoolander, Heavyweights

I, personally, find Strangers With Candy to be brilliant and I don't watch TV mindlessly. I hardly watch it at all. This is actually one of the few shows I own on DVD. Arrested Development is another, which is why it's funny they are mentioned here in contrast of one another. It's as if, in your mind, enjoyment of these two shows is mutually exclusive.

Never liked the show myself. To each their own.

It was on ok show. It was weird for me because there would be flashes of comedy brilliance sprinkled amongst the "just trying too hard" stuff.

Some of us enjoyed it before he was poached for a sub-rate comedy based around the news. The three of them have been collaborating for years, and "Wigfield" was one hell of a fun read.

Always so grouchy :(

It's quality entertainment but not really for me. I get bored of it.
