Flowers Are Fucking Expensive
Those damn shops must make a killing this time of year. I just paid $100 for a bouquet which didn't even look up to much.
It better be worth it by tomorrow night  |
They go up at this time of year.

simple supply and demand my friend

That's why I always ask for chocolate - cheaper and yummier!
|
My girlfriend loves flowers, but there's only one day of the year she doesn't want them.. thankfully for me its Feb 14th. :)
|
You should get her a Julio Iglesias CD, they're much cheaper...
|
Avoid 1-800-FLOWERS
They get me every year $160 atleast everytime usually more. And last time i ordered they missed the girls bday by 3 days |
it sucks

If you lived in Los Angeles, I'd refer you to my family's flower shop, and you wouldn't get ripped off :)

Yea they're expensive. My mom owns a flower shop and is barely getting by.
Wholesale prices on premium flowers has gone way up and she's got to compete with grocery stores and Wal Mart selling shitty roses for 19.99 a dozen. My dad just passed away and I went over the books with my mom and I was surprised as fuck to see how little she's making. But if anyone wants to order some flowers go to her website and you can order them for anywhere. http://www.beachflorist.net Expensive but premium |

Yes, they're fucking expensive. I hate to buy flowers. It's such a waste of money. I rather buy something more expensive than won't wither.. :P
|
for that money i better pay a dinner
|
You can get a real rose covered in gold for $60. Howard Stern keeps advertising it...at least that won't wither.
|
the shittiest part of all is that i ended up paying nearly as much for the shipping as the flowers
|
You people and your virtual girlfriends.. Go pickup a chick at the mall, all she'll want is a drink.

It's good that I am not a girl. I don't drink flowers and/or chocolate.
|
No shit chief.
:disgust |
yeah they really rape you on valentine's day.
|
1. I've never had much luck whenever I've sent flowers to a woman.
2. Those $100 flowers are going to be dead in a week. If you have to send her something send her a plant of some sort, something that will last, and include some kind of cutesie stuffed animal with it and a nice card with something thoughtful written by you personally. Similar price but at least you'll get some lasting "gift cred" out of it. :2 cents: |
My fiancee already told me to not bother with flowers this year, and since we'll be out of town all weekend, I have to agree - they don't make sense for us this go.
Besides, I typically pick her up a bouquet of whatever's in season on my weekly trip to the Farmer's Market. $5 to $12 a week is a lot easier to stomach.... sometimes I'll get a $10 bunch of a dozen tulips or whatever for $3 if I hit them up at the end of the day. |
damn kenya and it's civil war
|
Valentine's Day is over rated and for the losers who feel guilty about not showing their love and affection on a daily basis.
I'd rather get flowers/presents on ANY day of the year than V-day out of obligation. |
I guess living in Scotland limits your options. I got 2 dozen roses, with vase and a box of chocolates for a very reasonable price so I can send them to all my valentines and not be broke as a result.

I moved on and found a much better option that allowed me to send anywhere in the country. |
The trick is to buy them a month ago with a Feb 14th delivery date. They won't raise the prices on you for that (normally).

a dozen roses, vase, and ballon cost me about $20 more this year.
|
It's tradition and only comes once a year
