IBILL & CCBILL increased scrubbing ?

Does it seem that IBILL and CCBILL increased scrubbing over the last few days? Signups are about 30% lower than they used to be before Oct 2nd. I've noticed this across 3 paysites using CCBILL or IBILL as processors

XXXPaysiteDesign 10-05-2002 04:55 PM

Yes, I've noticed this as well.

Shoplifter 10-05-2002 05:01 PM

Actually I'm up a bit with Ibill.

Seeing as they don't disclose what was declined it is pretty hard to make this assumption.

Shark 10-05-2002 09:41 PM

Since the 1St of this month, all of a sudden my Ibill signups dropped to a very unusual low also..

:feels-hot

Amputate Your Head 10-05-2002 09:41 PM

lots of declines though..... woohoo! :glugglug

stevo 10-05-2002 09:43 PM

Traffics up & signups are down grrrrr probably just a coincidence though...

Why of course they pass it onto the webmasters and end up fucking them with no lube..

I'm waiting for the post from the guy who always says:

Hell no, we are seeing record sales. We are paying out over one million dollars a month. There is no such thing as summer slowdown. Our chargeback ratio is negative 99%, uptime is 108%, 2500 signups on each TGP Gallery, anyone who's having problems just doesn't know how to run a company, we are the best, yeah we good, everyone else bad!

insidethegame 10-05-2002 10:09 PM

How do ya think there gonna keep LOW chargeback ratios..Increase the scrub..the fun will start when sponsors start cancelling accounts of free site webmasters for THEIR chargeback ratios bein bad ...only sound business practice in this environment.

How did you know I was going to say that? :1orglaugh

Insidethegame :
Sponsors have been doing that every day for years now.

m0rph3us 10-05-2002 11:05 PM

hahah that's funny but on a serious note, this is not a good sign. Signups are horrible ever since oct 2nd. I don't know if this is a coincidence or not. I'm not talking about a tgp gallery that did 1:100000 and now it doing 1:99999999, but different source of traffic kept level across all days, that now yield less signups.

4eym 10-06-2002 01:19 AM

m0rph3us,

you aren't the only one experiencing declining signups over the last few days. The time frame matches exactly to when my signups started to plummet. Though these times are painful to go through, it is slightly comforting to know that I am not the only one going through this shit.

El Demonio 10-06-2002 01:29 AM

I got the same shit an all my sites and all my processors.

As for my experience, it is the usual VISAnet shit pulling

Carrie 10-06-2002 01:31 AM

With all of the sites hopping over to Glo-bill by the hundreds, they've got to make the money back somehow...
*passing out the aftershave to sooth the burn*

Shark 10-06-2002 01:33 AM

Yeah I have always ignored posts about signups being up and down etc,

I've been doing this stuff since the beginning of porn on the net and know the deal, but this was very perculiar to see the signups drop sharply on oct 1 , stay there for 4 days and then go back to an average number again.
I am on stable traffic, from my own multiple sources, I am not using paid traffic at all and traffic was the same on these days as it has always been recently on average.

As far as I know there is no way Ive seeing how many declines there were via the CMI is there?

Another thing I'm not sure on, and this probably is my non-understanding of the cmi reports, is how, when I calendar map each days signups from the CMI for performance tracking, then at the end of each month I add all the signups recorded each day and its always quite a few signups less than what is shown in the "Monthly Revenue Sales Report " in the signups column...

A number of the signups recorded on the day to day reports seem to vanish into thin air when the month is totalled, has anybody else noticed this ?

El Demonio 10-06-2002 01:35 AM

Yes, i have wsb as one of my processors and it happened there too

El Demonio 10-06-2002 01:40 AM

Yes Shark! i noticed that

I have a simple system to track the tricky CMI, i include and IMG SRC code on each webgood page at ibill, that code is a cgi that track every signup, with trans ID, sub ID, user and pass, and even when CMI reports a low number of signups on some of my sites my data says i have more.

And it is real because i have trans and sub #'s

I also can see the declines made by Ibill and WSB, i put a counter on their decline page, so everytime they decline, the counter ticks, and gues what? normal decline ratios are 170% to 300%!!!

Jizar II 10-06-2002 01:52 AM

I saw this too on our site, and this is with jettis.. WTF

chupacabra 10-06-2002 02:08 AM

i too have noticed a sharp decrease in sign-ups during the discussed period on our sites... we use ccBill exclusively, and have had some sign-ups, but they are very low for a weekend period. we are also seeing a few declines, not many of those either however. I don't think it is any sort of shaving, as we run scripts to monitor and log changes to the .htpasswd, and no 'rogue' accounts have been appearing... don't know why the consumers would be spending any differently due to the VISA situation, i doubt few others are worrying about it like we are. just a sign of the economy and uncertain political state? don't these people still know that porn consumption will help them sleep better?

Intresting stuff, we just broker se-traffic, we cannot see what you see, of course, but i am seeing very poor ratios at the moment where ever cc is required, e-mail programs run strong ratios as well as dialers... we do not like dialers, but due to the cc problems we started using some programs, a popunder with 2 clickthroughs to the dialer downlaod without any false information.... it's amazing how well this works compared to the current cc-sites....

.:Frog:. 10-06-2002 04:32 AM

Switch if your losing money. I know you have your rebills, but think about the long term.
If you e-mail all your members and explain the situation its likely a good % will rejoin.

The big3 treat webmasters like shit, you know this though. Switch if you are unhappy or suck it up and live with the changes. It just seems silly to stick with a processor you dislike and complain all the time.

Webby 10-06-2002 05:41 AM

Mmm.. first time ever I'm getting shit emails like this:

i tried to become a member using my visa card
but it was declined.
i'm 26 from israel and i have an international visa card.
why was my card declined?

I don't believe in coincidences no more!

EscortBiz 10-06-2002 06:09 AM

Im only doing 1:2 with CollegeFuckFest with a listing on thehun :-(

What am I doing wrong?

Brad Mitchell 10-06-2002 06:33 AM

You guys that try to analyze your business over a period of 3 days worth of traffic crack me up. You need a larger statistical sampling than that.

Brad

gothweb 10-06-2002 07:09 AM

What Brad said.

In the last three days, my sales have jumped. Know what? Just a blip.

RonC 10-06-2002 09:21 AM

This is the reason for the wacky traffic patterns the last few days.

UUnet had a major outage on Thursday. They were having problems before, but it cascaded into a meltdown. I just hope that they get out of bankruptcy soon. Once BGP gets messed up it can take a week for things to return to normal.
