Laptop for Sale (Good Price) or Lower Price w/ Trade

HP Pavillion dv8000
- 4 USB Drives
- 17 '' screen
- Media Center Version. All Factory DVD's
- AMD Turion 64 Mobile/Technology ML-32
- Windows XP/Media Center Edition
- 789 MHz, 512 MB/Ram
- ATI Radeon, Lightscribe, Muvee (and other programs you prob. won't use. lol)

PROBLEM: The F key is missing, however typing isn't a problem. In all honesty, typing is easy but you can't just purchase a singular key, the plastic prongs to hold it on are broken no thanks to typing with fake nails last year. :helpme

This computer is a few years old so I will sell at a fair price.... I will also sell at an even more discounted price if anyone has Mac shareware.

WHY I AM SELLING: I want a Mac. However, I have no software for Macs (PS, AI, MS).

I will also include anti-spyware, anti-virus and other PS OS programs with computer. Please hit me up on icq with offer.

You will receive it with Factory Install. I will C/reformat, test and ship the method you prefer. If you have a buddy local that you prefer to check it out, that's fine too.

If I am offered a fair price I am willing to take it to a computer repair/upgrade shop in my area (of YOUR chosing) and obtain a certificate that the PC is in perfect working order, other than the missing F key. It is being sold *AS IS* and I would be more than happy to have a third party back up that *AS IS* is "just fine". =)

A 3-4 year old used laptop with a missing F key. What a dream machine. Ill start the bidding at $1 + shipping :pimp

WarChild 02-10-2008 09:39 PM

I'm sure the actual value is less than $100.

angeleyes 02-10-2008 09:40 PM

Sorry, the HD is 2 gig (sorry) Possibly can include used, but cleaned out 1/2 gig USB storage device.

It's worth more than 100.00... but not worth a ton either. I'm realistic. My main motivating drive is that I do NOT want vista and I've been wanting a Mac. The ideal trade would be a a minimal pymt and some Mac software.

I'm sure someone would appreciate it as a gift to a niece/child/friend or someone that doesn't have a money tree. I've sold 5 laptops on here because I'm a habitual laptop buyer and I've never had complaints. Sold 2 to the same guy! Again, I'm not looking to get rich, but I'd rather gain something than nothing. I've kept this one longer than any others, says something about it.

Couple hundred.... I am so flexible if I can get some copies of Mac software though. My biggest reason in selling it. Yeah, I'll get the jokes that it's worth a buck.... that is ridiculous. Feel free to take the same specs and compare on ebay. I don't want more than it's actually worth. It isn't worth 700+, but it's worth more than 100. (I guess it all depends on what the buyer wants it for). I'm not desperate for the money but I'm very reasonable.

I do this to myself every 2 years, get to the point that I own 3-4 computers and it's just stupid. I would like to get myself a new or used mac, so I guess this is also a spam thread to buy a used Mac if you have one? Just like cars, once you drive it off the lot, it loses value, so I don't mind if someone has used it before.

about $300 is more realistic. There was a "like new" Pavillion dv8000 on eBay for $400 recently - nobody placed a bid.

hey smart ass, my very first laptop cost me 150.00, had missing keys, etc. Who cares? Everyone has different needs and I think this would be an excellent back up computer or one for a child as a "gifter". I was thrilled to have my first broken down notebook. Money doesn't grow on trees for all of us and it certainly wasn't for me back then, but the difference is, this one isn't broken down, it's missing a damn key that still types, obviously. FFFFFFFFffffffFFFFFFFF (see how easy that was?)

Again, I'm not even asking 500 for it, so back off. lol I'd much rather take a lower amount with the Mac software which we all know someone could get for free (just not me. lol)...

Take it or leave it. It's a good computer.

I was just asking how much you wanted and the amount of gigs seemed low. :winkwink:

angeleyes 02-10-2008 10:40 PM

OMG, lol Tony...... haha I didn't realize I typed in 2 gigs. Ok, that is embarassing.

the C and D drive each have 75 GB I was looking at something else and trying to cross post, it's been a long weekend.

L-Pink 02-10-2008 10:48 PM

What software are you looking for that isn't included?

xxweekxx 02-10-2008 10:51 PM

ill pay $150 and u pay shipping

angeleyes 02-10-2008 10:57 PM

Last post for the night. I've had an offer, will make up my mind tomorrow, I realize this isn't the Airbook. Anyhow, sorry about the typo on HD space. I can take photos. I'm typing on it now, I'll use it until I sell it and get my Tosh! (and I have a few other computers I could be using, I like this one for now.). Some women like shoes and clothes, I like computers and software, I'm a geek. hell, anyone that attends conventions should know that, I wear the same damn clothes year after year but I always have a new computer. lol

Take it easy everyone..... Smart ass comments taken in stride... If it was broken down I would never sell it. There is a market for everything. For those smart asses offering a dollar, I think they forget back when they were kids or struggling adults and getting a nice laptop (used and not THAT outdated for what they needed it for) was a big deal. I still have my very first desktop (other than the family tosh growing up), a 386 running win 3.1 and I can't bring myself to get rid of it, I haul it out once a year to go through it just to laugh. (and I know many of you had computers far before that). I have references from my last 5 laptop adult board sales.

I have external speakers that you can give/take with this think and an S cable. I watch DL movies on my TV using it. Many of you don't know that my first corporate and real job was in design for an international company and I lost touch with my roots, I miss my Mac, I want one but I can't justify owning that many fricken computers with one user without feeling guilty.

Peace out!

Do you mean for the Mac I want? I want MS office (not a trial version), PS, Adobe Illustrator. (I want more, but I could settle for those three).

As far as the one I'm selling... I could sell it as is and it has MS office, Works, PS, AI, Corel, DreamWeaver, Magic Partition and a slew of other crap I tinkered with and don't use. Hell, I could just send half of the original CD's as part of the deal.

angeleyes 02-10-2008 11:07 PM

oh yeah, the computer is 2 years old, not 3 or 4. I've only owed property tax on it for 2 fiscal years, I have all of the paperwork on it. (That is a stupid thing business owners in FL have to do, pay taxes on computer items they buy to run their business- if they write them off). Not all states are like this, but ours is, we get our breaks in other ways, like no state income tax.

Xrated J 02-10-2008 11:11 PM

i have the same one, but it has 2 gig ram and 240 gig hd. i love it.

Hey, that was my very first computer believe it or not. My old tenant was throwing his out one day (back in about 1997), and at the time I was taking courses, was on worker's comp, and needed one just to learn to type on at home. I had a great time with that old machine, learned all I could from it, played a lot of old games on it the guy had, then ended up selling it to a high school computer teacher for $50 bucks who bought it so his kids could take it apart and learn from it.

Bump for Jen.

Bojangles 02-10-2008 11:18 PM

Good luck with the sale.

Sebastian Sands 02-10-2008 11:21 PM

weren't you selling a laptop like a year ago on here? Is that the same one?

No hon, I have purchased over 10 laptops, I'm not an addictive shopper, but when it comes to laptops, I have a little issue. lol I've sold all of them through GFY so far. All pleased buyers.

HEY CD, I get such a huge rush when I pull out the old 386, it just brings me back to another life. (and the 10 inch monitor that came with it. lol) :1orglaugh

If I don't have 2 computes plus my star computer, I'm not happy, I define computer nerd. I use the one I'm selling as my primary and it's not even the most powerful, I just like it.

Shout out for the nerds!:upsidedow

bobby666 02-11-2008 02:45 AM

godd luck with that thing and the sale
