Who will be McCain's running mate?

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal
http://www.anniemayhem.com/blog%20pics/BobbyJindal.jpg

This stragedy would balance the Republican ticket on many levels.

Bobby Jindal is "ultra super duper to the 10th degree" conservative.

We are gonna have our first Punjabi Indian VP.

L-Pink 02-10-2008 02:59 PM

He looks like the India version of Everybody Loves Raymond.

Condoleezza Rice.

Best way to go against a black man or a woman, just combine the two and run a black woman.

Though she also scares the fuck out of me. I also really think he needs someone that knows more about the economy so that choice may be out the window, then again that party has not been planing ahead much lately for the past 8 years or so.

kane 02-10-2008 05:38 PM

I still say it will be huckabee

spanky part 2 02-10-2008 05:44 PM

Doesn't matter might as well pick Ronald McDonald. They ain't got a fucking chance.

yea, true. But i think he really needs to go with someone who specializes in the economy... but i really dont think mccain has a chance...

DaddyHalbucks 02-10-2008 06:50 PM

Jindal is too young to be taken seriously. But he is a great guy; after all, he attended Brown University ;)

My guess is Huckabee would be the perfect running mate for McCain. McCain is seen as too liberal, and Huckabee is a solid conservative.

IllTestYourGirls 02-10-2008 07:01 PM

tax hike mike a conservative? :1orglaugh That would be the most liberal republican ticket of all time.

Does not matter who he picks. He is going to lose really badly in the general. McCain has already lost 5 to 10% of Republican base by his love of killing Muslims. Then he will lose another 5 to 10% of the Republican base with his let illegals get amnesty plan.

That coupled with the higher turn out for the dems this primary season and you have a landslide. Not so much of a landslide if Hillary gets in. But if Obama wins kiss the Republican party good by for a very long time.

That would be a veeery smart move on his part.

And yes she scares me too although not nearly so much as Huckabee.

Jindal has stated that he is "100 percent against abortion, no exceptions."[18] During his 2003 run for governor he distinguished himself from Blanco, who is also pro-life, by stating that he supports an abortion ban without exceptions for the life of the woman, the health of the woman, rape, or incest. His definition of abortion differs from the medical community's in that it only includes procedures that target the embryo or fetus, a definition that excludes procedures such as a salpingectomy that do not target the embryo specifically but may result in what the medical community would call an abortion.[19] He has stated that he would allow emergency contraception, which some pro-life groups consider morally equivalent to abortion.[20] He has voted with the Republican Party on all abortion-related issues.[21][22]

Jindal opposes using taxpayer money to fund human embryo experimentation that involves the cloning and destruction of human embryos, and he supports the teaching of intelligent design in public schools.[23]

As a private citizen, Jindal voted for the "Stelly Tax plan",[24] a referendum named for former state Representative Vic Stelly of Lake Charles, which swapped some sales taxes for higher income taxes. Whether or not the "Stelly Plan" is giving the desired results is still hotly debated statewide. Early Republican challenger Steve Scalise challenged Jindal on his vote for this tax plan before Scalise dropped out of the congressional race in 2004.

Jindal supported a constitutional amendment banning flag burning[25], and the Real ID Act of 2005.[26] Jindal has an A rating from Gun Owners of America.

He is a member of the conservative Republican Study Committee.[27] In 2006, Jindal voted with the Republican Caucus 97 percent of the time during the 109th Congress.[28]

Jindal also supports co-payments in Medicaid.[29]

In 2006, Jindal sponsored the Deep Ocean Energy Resources Act (H.R. 4761), a bill to eliminate the moratorium on offshore oil and gas drilling over the U.S. outer continental shelf, which prompted the watchdog group Republicans for Environmental Protection to issue him an environmental harm demerit.[30] Jindal's 2006 rating from that organization was -4, among the lowest in Congress. The nonpartisan League of Conservation Voters also censured Jindal for securing passage of H.R. 4761 in the House of Representatives; the group rated his environmental performance that year at seven percent, citing anti-environment votes on 11 out of 12 critical issues. Jindal's lifetime score from the League of Conservation Voters is seven percent.[31] Despite claims that Jindal's bill was successful,[32] H.R. 4761 was actually replaced by S 3711 (known as the Domenici-Landrieu Fair Share Plan). The Senate version was the actual legislation that was passed by both houses of Congress, word for word, and signed by President Bush.[33]

In 2005, Jindal led other freshman Republican House members in dipping their fingers in purple dye to celebrate the 2005 Iraqi national elections

Let's see Huckabee won Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Louisiana. would have on SC if Fred Thompson had dropped out. Sounds like a solid southern strategy to me.

DaddyHalbucks 02-10-2008 08:22 PM

"Tax Hike Mike" wants to abolish the IRS.

Yeah, but with a 23% national sales tax. that on top of the 9.75% I'm already paying. Sorry I'd rather have the IRS and all it's problems than have to cough up and extra 1/3 everytime I go to the store. You want to see the economy tank in a hurry, make everything cost 23% more.

None of those states (except maybe Arkansas) would vote for Hillary and Obama's chances aren't much better down there.

McCain would do far better stealing Obama and women voters nationwide from the democrats by picking Condoleezza Rice.

I'm not particularly thrilled with McCain or Rice but that would be the smart thing for him to do.

If that is true then McCain really has zero chance of winning. He was just awful as Gore's running mate.

Leiberman has already said he wouldn't do that. He said and I quote "Been there, done that, not interested." He did say if invited he would attend the GOP convention.

sinclair 02-11-2008 08:40 AM

Whoever it is, I am pretty sure they will not be good for the adult industry. He needs conservative cred.

IllTestYourGirls 02-11-2008 09:27 AM

Tax hike mike can not abolish the income tax. So we will end up with an income tax and a fair tax! haha The only person that has a plan to abolish the income tax is Ron Paul.

The only fair tax is NO tax.

to gator. Ya as a southern strategy it would be good to pick up Huckabee. But why not a southern Governor?
