what you're asking is how many of us are involved in the hands on production end of the porn biz.

an executive producer in mainstream Hollywood does the financing and deal making of a movie or tv project, he's not writing scripts, acting, holding a camera, lighting a set etc - but you wouldn't say that Jerry Bruckheimer isn't in the movie biz.

Porn (content) production isn't *exclusively* "the porn business".

If that was the case, there would be no end-customer market of current size buying the content producers' products/services...
"Middlemen"/whatever-u-wanna-call-em in the industry/sector are needed to penetrate (pardon me there, lol) the potential market fully.

(Partly an opinion, partly general business fact.)

I got in the biz in 1991 right out of college specifically with the goal of becoming a porn director and I had my first big success in 1993 with my first feature shoot, the VHS movie "Strap-On Sally". I have filmed hundreds of adult movies for VHS, DVD & television broadcast since then as well as thousands of custom exclusive scenes for internet distribution since then.

i was in "adult" a number of years ago, ran an escort agency but was too young and blew it all...left did mainstream, now back. programming/development/marketing is different and a little more relaxed imho

I think a good indicator is those who are pissed off at piracy and those who tell us to adopt. lol
