im looking into a canon 40D

Im sick of $200 cameras, and i wanna have better pics, so i heard that these 2 come as the next level, start up pro cameras, just family prints, views, portraits. Ive been using Nikons for years, so im more or less convinced to buy D40, but some people say Canon is a pro choice. What I wanna be able to do its an HDR pics, not sure if D40 has that.

the canon 40D is a good camera, I have it and the canon 5D

Just about any DSLR should be able to do HDR.

Do you have large hands? The Canon 350D (there's also a 400D out which is actually the current model) is quite small. I can't offer you any comparison with the Nikon D40 because I've never held it.

actually the replacement of the 350d the model name escapes me is supposed to kick ass.

I love my D40. Don't know much about the Canon though.

Iv got a Nikon D50 and love it, the D40x is 10mp while the normal D40 is 6mp.
You should go for the D40x.

Mind you its small, but very compact. :)

Canon hands down. It's not even a contest. Nikon eventually started catching up with where Canon were 4 years ago.
