newer car problem halpp
our 06 chevy colbat with 30k miles on it today all the suddenly said in the digital reader thing engine powerding down or something like that and then says shutting off or something along those lines and it would just die
oil life was at 30% so i am sure it was the oil needing changed but what else could cause this? we are still under chevy's bumper to bumper warranty so it is at the chevy lot now but wtf ??? we did not abuse the car we just havnt driven it for ever and we went to get oil changed today and it broke down the guy at the chevy lot said maybe it was the computer shutting the engine because it detected a problem and was preventing the problem getting to the engine ? could an oil change being needed really do this? sorry if this thread sounds all scattered but i am frustrated now :( |
Those computers have a mind of their own..I doubt the oil change would have any thing to do with that, probably a sensor
|
just hoping they dont find SOMETHING that would make have to pay they said the bumper 2 bumper covers everythign no fine print other than if we abused the car like never getting oil done ect
|
no, it is not due to needing an oil change . . . sounds like something they would tell a chick
|
Should all still be under warranty. If GM does do one thing right, it's service.

IDK i dont know shit about a freakin car other than it gets you around |
You have been getting oil changes and standard maintenance done on it as needed though right?
Some warranties can wiggle themselves out of paying for shit if you have not been doing the crap your supposed to have been doing. Oil, air filters, tranny & brake fluid, and all that other assorted stuff they go over with you at every jiffy lube or whatever you go to. |
