No problem with it at all. Her daughter and brother-in-law are co-signers, so if she goes tits up tomorrow, they still have to pay off the loan.

I don't see what the big deal is? If she dies and the garauntors can't pay, then the bank takes possesion of the house and can sell it.

That's a cheap house... around Boston it would've costed her $400,000 easily...
