My Disturbing Experiences in Changing Contact Info on a Ton of Programs
Well as of a couple weeks ago, my company has moved offices and we had to change all our contact information on all of the programs we are members of. We also had to change the payment details to put another company name on the account. Here are some disturbing results from that endeavor:
1) Most of the programs don't send you an e-mail to verify that changes were made to an account. It seems the only ones that did were NATS based. Many NATS based ones didn't utilize this feature. This makes it real easy for a scammer to login, plug in their epassporte details, and start getting payments unbeknownst to the affiliate. With the recent NATS data leak, I can't fathom any NATS program not utilizing this option in the program. 2) About half the programs only give you one line for your address. Some even cut off that line after a certain number of characters. Many of us have long addresses, work in offices. Not a huge deal but I think it's just silly not to have 2 lines. 3) Many programs require you to e-mail in the changes. I'm surprised how many didn't respond and haven't changed the address/payment details to this day. Some of these are big programs, some are real active on the boards. Amazing how I can find programs that post 100 times a day on the boards but can't have someone fix a mailing address in their backend. Honestly, for a few of them, we're just dropping links. 4) Only a small handful block changing payment details a day or two before the payout. This should be in place in more programs and is a great security measure from blocking scammers from sniping your payment. I know some of these seem minor, but I think are pretty important. I guess I'm more shocked than anything considering how easy some of these changes are to implement. |
oh boy, do I know the feeling!
for instance, I've been after CECash to change my payout method for over 1 year... I ended up giving up on them. |
We require you to submit your changes via email at WEGCash, it helps retain security of your account. We also usually complete the changes within 24 hours, and send an email in response to let you know the update is complete.
Let me know if you submitted an update to us and we haven't updated your account, because that means we haven't received it. |

I have faxed CCBill 3 times (2007) on a name change for productions company, from studio (completely different LLC), and they to this date have not changed it. So now I just have business partner do a simple accounting switch in the books to deal with it. Fucking ridiculous. I get tired of e-mailing, calling, and faxing to cover people's incompetence. My time is JUST as important, if not moreso, than some piss ant rep who can't apparently handle a simple request. |
i especially like the one line for the street address, with the limited number of characters :(
|
Whenever somebody asks me I make them email me from their listed address and provide some additional information about themselves or account. Full name, listed address, Tax ID, etc.
|
To update your info for FreakBucks, just need to email or msg me and changes will be done within hours usually, with a personal reply confirming the change.
|
You can do some some changes online with us - but payee info has to be done by Email.
Also you can not change country info online, only by email. The person that deals with this is on top of her game and if she gets the email it will be done within a few hours. |

Man at least you can login.. We promote more than 150 programs, and it's crazy the lack of effort people put into their affiliate areas.
I'm going to call out some names too.. Fuck 'em. Traffic Cash Gold.. Why can't I get stats before 2007? :) I e-mailed them and asked, and they told me "it can't be done, the database calls would be ridiculous".. I told them Nasty Dollars does it fine, and they have 9165091376901235 more affiliates making 9137569135352379691206 more dollars.... No response. Apparently they can't afford a computer at TCG! (sorry WG... heh) Wicked Bucks.. These people had a company handling their affiliate program since they were too lazy or inept to do it themselves.. When they took back control in apparently October of 2007, by February of this year they still had this other company's contact info listed in their affil area.. Not to mention they use BLACK TEXT on BLACK BACKGROUND all over the place (making it seem like it was broken) and their support form didn't work, AND they didn't list an e-mail address.. Fuckers. Also a big fuck you to all the programs who mysteriously have our accounts disappear. A big fuck you to DDG Cash for changing our linkcodes and us losing a half a year of sales, it's okay, it's only a few thousand dollars right? Big thanks for not doing anything about it either.. Enjoy my money! Not to mention.. the WORST.. DHD Media.. The most inept, from the planet of ineptitude. I'm surprised they even send us checks, it must be automated! :) Also if you promote Suze.net and Suze Video through DHD, change your codes to SuzeCash (new nats program) IMMEDIATELY.. We made ZERO sales on Suze.net last year.. I changed my codes to the new nats, and in 2 weeks I've already received 2-3 signup e-mails... SURRRRE we didn't make any sales in the 12 months previous.. Last one.. ALL YOU SPONSORS who don't list payment histories.. Hey - maybe that could be useful to affiliates?? :) |
I am having a hell of a time with CCBill. I've been trying to change an address with them for ages. I had a business partner on a site, and eventually he quit. I wrote to CCBill via email, sent in the forms they wanted. Then they wanted him to send them in since things were in his name. Well he did as they asked and things still were not changed. He has recently sent in the paperwork again and it better work.
I'm getting really angry that all the cheques are still coming in his name and we haven't worked together in a year. I'm just lucky he's an honest enough person to cash them and transfer the money to me. |
