Acupuncture.... Tried it? Discuss
I injured my shoulder about 6 months ago....
It is still fucking with me today! My question--> Who here has tried Acupuncture? Liked it? Did it work? Discuss |
Tried it, did not mind it.
Helped on some things and did not help on others. I however did not go into it thinking it was a fix all or anything even close. Worked well for some back spasms at the time along with frequent migraines. |
Found it awesome for pain management.
The needles extended my football career back in the day by at least 3 years. 2c |
Have you gone to a chiropractor?
What kind of pain is it? Is it muscle pain? Nerve pinching? If it's muscle pain or pinching muscle or even just "left-over pain" that your body/brain hasn't "let go of yet" then a chiropractor will help 're-train' your muscles and brain to relax. Acupuncture will only temporarily help nerves if there is a physical issue in the way, such as tightened muscles. Matt |
doesnt it hurt?

Acupuncture works, but you have to 'believe'.
Look into some physical therapy sessions. those guys know what they are doing. |
not yet but it's on my list of TTD.

In my case it to had a success and failure rate like all procedures do. I see a variety of specialists for my back for instance. I have a general MD, a orthopedic MDs, chiropractors, massage therapists, and an acupuncture person. Oh I also have a neurologist as well that I nearly forgot about that all on occasion deal with just my back issues. I really do not think I would need to believe in any of them to get some results. Now if I wanted someone lay hands on me, or dip me in special waters I think I then better believe or I would not even stand a chance of having a placebo effect. |
i didn try but i would like to.

If the muscle itself is injured i think it works very well, however when i had a damaged tendon in my shoulder it was not effective at all. That was my experience from about 20 sessions.

I did it on my knee back when I really hurt it. I don't think it did anything really. Got it done at physical therapy, went home, and it still hurt just as bad. I think it's one of those kinds of things where it's in your head. If you believe it will work, it might feel that way.
