Here is a totally related thread I made a couple of minutes ago:

Conservatives say that people should pay for their own health insurance.
Well maybe its time that Halliburton and the oil companies started paying for their war in Iraq? |
I don't need or want the govt. (which really means OUR money) paying for my "health care". My father, my father's father, and so on all the way back to the beginning of time were able to take care of themselves.
What I would like...is to take back all those BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars and give it back to the people who really earned it. Not the fucking thieving government who just reaches in and takes it from us. Pisses me off. By the time I pay state, local, federal, and FICA taxes...they are taking the majority of every goddamn dollar I make. It's not right. And then they tax us again when we buy something. What a fucking bunch of criminals. Health care, social security, medicare, welfare, etc., etc. How oh how did our forefathers and ancestors ever survive without the govt. wiping their ass for them. In my humble opinion....every thing the govt. does for us = more control over our lives. |
but you guys voted him in
he is the decider |
Yup, the USA has been a great example for the rest of the world..

Nice to be able to clearly see what the government's priorities are..

My great grandfather was the first of my family that got social security. He began collecting it at retirement and continued getting it until he died in 1972. His dad never got it...it only came into being in 1935 when FDR was struggling to keep the country from falling to pieces with The Great Depression. Of course, as we all know he found a way out of the Great Depression....it's called WW2 But getting back on track...I just feel that getting milked by the govt. is wrong. I don't want to sound all "survival of the fittest" or anything...but it's just human nature that if there is a "safety net" you're not gonna take care of yourself. I guess smarter guys than us have debated this. Unfortunately for us, they are all politicians. And they have the power. Which means they make the money in a million ways that we don't even know about. Meantime...every dollar I make gets ass raped before I even get it in my hand. :1orglaugh Sorry to rant. |

Conservatives believe government fucks up most of the things it does, especially when it tries to usurp private enterprise functions. That is not to say there isn't room for improvement in healthcare, we need some new laws. The corollary is conservatives don't believe it is fair to make one person pay for another's healthcare, especially when the whole system will be administered by a bunch of government boobs. |

I don't want our goverment running health care. Can you imagine how fucked up that would be?
|
Even poorly government run healthcare would be better than the mess you have over there.
Though there are 3 main reasons the US will never catch up with the rest of the world in this area ... 1. Americans are paranoid about a government run health system that could be loosely called 'socalised medicine' regardless of whether it was better or not. 2. Your health companies who make a fortune off you all over there are so huge and powerful they will never allow it to happen 3. Americans don't believe they should have to pay for anyone else's health. Most are incapable of seeing the larger picture. |

$800Billion? Try more like approaching TWO TRILLION DOLLARS.
Excellent New York Times article from over a year ago when the cost was already at $1.2 TRILLION. Shows what we could have had for our money. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/17/bu...leonhardt.html Note: A bullet costs a few pennies. We don't have a sniper that could have taken Saddam out with one bullet? Would have saved us a shitload. |
USA is a dangerous country to live, it's full of fat and stressful people, conservative dictators and nazis, and poor healthcare capitalist system...
Move to a decent country if you want to live well and have free or a perfect healthcare system payed with your own taxes. USA is a 3rd world country where the death penalty is still LEGAL... what can you expect from such a place like that? USA sucks. I'm glad they are in recesion, the empire is coming to an end, finally. YES, Houston you have a problem. Sicko is a great movie. |
Think about if that money was put into schools & education.

People really need to watch that movie and see what a joke we (the USA) are to other nations when it comes to our healthcare system.. (no medical insurance for me since April of last year.. risky i know.. but just couldn't justify the over-inflated expense with little or no benefit) |
Insurances are killing the US. People have started to think that health insurance is health care. It is not. People think if the government pays for health care costs will go down, they are wrong. People think if we force people to buy health care costs will go down, they too are wrong. With insurances in the health care system prices will go up and up and up.
There are two major factors into why health care is so expensive. Insurance and medicare/aide. This is not capitalism this is corporatism and that is why our health care system is failing. Quote:

Vote for Hillary, she will get you healthcare. and raise you taxes to pay for it.
ask you parents and grandparents what they pay for Medicare. it is not free. |
Everyone by now should know that under her plan, if you want to keep exactly what you have now, you may. Simply do nothing and you're all set.
I dunno who's plan is best, but doing nothing only ensures a steady decline in services and a steady increase in costs. Far outpacing inflation and cost of living increases. |
everyone should already also know that they will garnish your wages if you do not buy into her plan. there are millions and millions of people that do not want to buy health insurance, because for the most part it is a waste of money, unless you get a really good plan, that will cost you out the ass, and you have to get really sick to ever recover your costs.
Why does anyone need to give their money to an insurance company or the government? Why can we not save our own money, set aside money, invest our own money in the event something happens? And if we do not have enough money saved why can I not go to the hospital and negotiate my costs/payment? Quote:
|
Because NO ONE saves. So when people start to die, they beg for help. This is why ANY government program was started.
