WTF Are Democrats Thinking?

How many times do you have to hear Republicans say they are praying Hillary wins? How many polls showing her losing to McCain but Obama winning do you have to see and yet still they want to make this a race with her in it. I'm a Libertarian so I don't prefer either but they just seem so fucking stupid to me to be shooting themselves in the foot like this. Are they all really that dumb or am I missing something here?

Ever since there has been talk about Hillary running for the Presidency...I have stated that...in my opinion...she is not electable...and they must be that dumb...look to who they nominated the last time around.

Hey Mark. How the hell ya been?

I think it is too close to predict whether it is Clinton or Obama vs (presumably) McCain. the average of all major polls from the past few weeks shows McCain +1.8% over Clinton and Obama +.7% over McCain. Not sure one electorals and that is what counts. RCP will have some good data to start once the state head to head polling starts.

VP selections, future events, electoral counts, the rest of the campaign and luck will decide.

i don't understand your point about them shooting themselves in the foot though. Their prayers aren't getting Hillary any votes.

Guaranteed someone who is not electable will be the next president of the United States. A Mormon, a black guy, a woman and a guy older than dirt.

sexuallyhealed 02-06-2008 05:30 AM

anyone would do better than Bush so who cares

Well with the people out there who will be voting who knows. Last night on the Jay Leno show, he was showing people pictures of the candidates and not only don't people know their names they don't even recognize them. One woman didn't even recognize Hillaray and she has been in the news for well over 15 years.:(

Mark,

You are so right... I honestly dont even think Obama can win. I will belive it when i see it.
This country still has a HUGE racial divide. They might say they will vote for obama, but in the voting booth, when the curtains are closed, will they?

Paper_Amar 02-06-2008 09:57 AM

btw, hope you are doing great... hit me up on icq, we havent chatted in a while.

he is getting a large percentage of the white vote, alot of states he won arent black strong holds. His support started with whites actually.

Nope, they won't. You should pick up a copy of the book Freakonomics. They talk about a candidate who was black. In the exit polls he was way ahead of the other candidate. When the actual results came back, the numbers were completely different. One could guess that people leaving the polls claimed to have voted for the black candidate so as not to appear racist but in reality they did not vote as they claimed.

Paper_Amar 02-06-2008 01:44 PM

exactly what I thought...

Do you vote for who you think will win for your party or do you vote with you you really WANT? Take Ron Paul supporters. Obviously he has not chance, but NONE of the other republican has view anywhere near his. Should they vote for someone they obviously have disdain for in the primary instead of Paul because of electability?

If it wasn't for people taking a stand( mostly republicans ) in 1992 and voting for Ross Perot even though they HAD to know that he had no chance and that it would cosy the GOP the election they did it anyways.

Very good point. I vote Libertarian knowing it isn't happening but it's mostly what I believe. So the same logic should stand for Democrats.

No right or wrong answer to that but to be fair a whole lot of Paul supporters were deluded into thinking he might actually win. At first he was underrepresented in all the pre-primary polls and then he was the victim of a number of various conspiracies and the "mainstream media" being "scared" of him. Some of them are probably still expecting a massive comeback.
