i'm way deep in hockey pools this year. I have spent way too much time researching players (who is on the playoff/1st line...) over the past week, but it makes it even more fun to fllow the season.

I won $240 in a playoff pool last season!

i agree. the last month before playoffs especially was an exciting time!! just to bad we had to go against the Wings in the first round.

i think in a decade the make-up of the league will be more reflective of the population. Already there is less and less Canadians as a percentage of players every year. I suspect that now that hockey teams are everywhere in the US and roller-hockey..is catching on in the South, things will look differently soon. I swear a few years back every west coast rapper was wearing a hockey jersey in their videos.

I just hope the NHL sticks to its guns and they call the obstruction rules like they say they are going to. For anybody who is old enough to remember hockey in the 70's and 80's the game was so much more exciting back then with lots of scoring and of course fights, this was when the whole teams would jump
out on the ice and there were fights everywhere and nothing the referees or anybody could do about it. I know the fights will never return to what went on in the 70's cuz the NHL is stupid.

Colorado is just a stacked team, they just traded for Derrick Morris who will be another stud defenceman in a couple of years.

The Wings should be ok even with Stevie Y out and some aging players. They have some good young talent coming in to take over when the others retire.

Nobody in the East is half as good as those two teams which sucks cuz it makes for a bad Stanley Cup Final.

Born & raised in Philly, so I'm a die hard Flyers fan! I've been a fan since the Broad Street Bully days (when the team really kicked ass.)

Other teams that I really like include: The Caps, The Hurricanes(where Rod BrindA'mour is), The Devils and Red Wings.

Oh, and toodamnfli...ya won't get lynched if you go to a game hon. My son and I go to games all the time! :)
