A Damn Sexy Beast
 

A journalist friend got an uber cool press car over the weekend: the brand new Audi R8. He brought it over to visit for a little while! I really fell in love with how it looked in my driveway. The seats were so comfortable that I would pay for one of them as a living room easy-chair! The car has a very American muscle car stance to it, and has a beautiful marriage of feminine curves with masculine angles and power. I didn't get to go for a ride in it because it's only a two-seater and, well, the boys wanted to go play in their Hot Wheel without girls around. You know how boys are.

Now if only I could convince that R8 to come live in my driveway permanently...

R8 is a fucking hot car

The not so great thing is that the car has only been a demostration car for a dealership, not a press car until this month, and already the carbon fibre arm rest is cracked, the ceiling lights are loose, and there are scuffs all over the inside of the driver's side door. It doesn't seem to be holding up well to even light wear. :(

That's pretty lame, he's only had it a few days and it's all fuckered up already? Audi's are usually put together better than that. Is it just because it's a pre-release or is this how they make their cars now?

Apparently for a dealership to even sell the R8, they have to remodel a good sized floor space for its pedestal and whatnot, so there are only two in the city so far with that done (as far as I know.) This car was a dealership owner's personal car that he was also using as the demonstration vehicle. So all the wear and tear on the car has been in that time only. Pretty sad :( I thought Audi's were built better, too.
