Battlestar Galactica: Razor

So growing up as a kid in the 80's, I fondly remember Battlestar Galactica as one of the greatest space shows. A status that only grew by it being yanked from the airwaves for so many years by Lucas. As such, I was resistant to the new series at first, especially things like Starbuck being a woman.

After I started watching it, my mind quickly changed and I was enthralled with how well it was done and presented. Kara Thrace is a great character, fuck the original Starbuck.

Anyway, I didn't get around to watching Razor until just the other day. Holy crap was that good for a made for tv movie. Most importantly, I found my favorite female character in a space drama ever, finally edging Ripley from Alien (and especially Aliens) off of her throne.

Kendra Shaw is the best female character ever. Beautiful and stone fucking cold. :thumbsup

I'm totally hooked on BSG at the moment. I'm about 8 episodes from finishing the third season. I picked up Razor, just haven't put it in yet. I should finish up in this week.

When's season 4 start?

Well, in some respects she basically HAD to die. In made her character complete. It cemented the idea that she really believed in her cause when she sacrificed herself. If she had of let Starbuck stay, she would have come across as simply a heartless bitch instead of a righteous zealot. :2 cents:

Thanks for the spoiler. :1orglaugh

March, and I think it's going to be the last season. Maybe another movie to finish it off.

I have a feeling the last cylon has to be either Adama or Laura Rosyln. I also suspect that as the cylons and fleet move together towards earth, their destiny will become more and more entwined. If and when they do reach early, either they will find an evolved species of cylons and humans, or they'll find cylons have won out on earth too.

The original series fell apart as they got closer to their destination and got really silly. The problem is that even with great production and gritty drama, there's still only so many good episodes you can make with the limitations of being a straggling fleet of survivors in space. Witness the middle episodes from about 5-10 of season 3.

I hadn't seen the show until getting the first season on HDDVD for Christmas. I think I've watched at least an episode per day since. It's 3am here now and I just finished one off not 30 minutes ago.

Yeah, really liked that episode. Probably the best one.

Great show for sci-fi fans :)

BSG rocks and Razor was much better than what I was expecting.

Watching series 3 again on DVD (when the wife lets me near the tv) and whilst it ends well it does seem to flop a bit mid-season.

You can't beat, IMO, the first episodes of series 1.

BradM 02-05-2008 11:20 AM

BSG rocks cocks. Love it, totally obsessed. I have all of the DVDs, all of the diecast models... I'm known to be over the top with it. It's just the best acting, best writing and best series I've ever seen.

Razor was incredible, it really let us look into human flaws. Shaw was a bad ass.

It also really showed us that season 4 is going to be insane.

The last cylon will not be a known character.

so when does the new season start anyway? Should be getting close

Razor was pretty good.

It sure as hell beat Stargate's recent movie.
