Jesus, you didnt mention the STEELERS of the 70's. 4 superbowls in 6 yrs. The best ever.

there was a thread about this a couple of months ago where I stated my opinion - even IF the Patriots had gone 19-0 they would NOT be the greatest football team ever, their season would have been the greatest accomplishment by any team in history, big difference - because of the SALARY CAP no team will be the equal or better of the dynasties of the past. That's just a fact - people want to be in on 'the greatest' new thing but wishing doesn't make it so.

my opinion is Chuck Noll's Steelers and the 85 Bears are the greatest teams of all time

The NHL is now the same thing - none of these Stanley Cup champions like the Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Hurricans and whoever wins this year can hold a candle to the Edmonton Oilers of the 80's or the Montreal Canadians of the 70's.

salary cap brings parity and mediocrity. what the Patriots have done in the salary cap era is amazing because the system works against a team having the kind of success they have had for so long.

In no order::

70 Steelers (Chuck Knoll. The real inventor of the "Tampa 2" defense)

72-73 Dolphins (They followed undefeated 72 season with 2 loss year and Super bowl win in 73. Phenomenal coaching job by Shula. Griese missed most of the 72 season)

80s 49ers (Walsh' brilliant offensive system)

93-96 Cowboys (Jimmy Johnson. 3 Super Bowls wins in 4 years. Hall of Fame all over the skill positions)

Recent Patriots teams

ding dind ding we have a winner

93-96 Cowboys (Jimmy Johnson. 3 Super Bowls wins in 4 years. Hall of Fame all over the skill positions)

AND IT WAS 92, 93 AND 95.. BLEW out Buffalo twice and the steelers even though over matched played a great game with that sneak on sides..

IMO!!!
