Program Owners: What do you do with resellers who...

Program owners: Do you delete resellers whose are e-mails bounce, who don?t respond to IM?s and who don?t send any traffic?

baddog 02-04-2008 11:44 AM

I only delete those that violate the TOS.

Rochard 02-04-2008 11:46 AM

I tend not to deal with companies that won't talk to me...... If I can't get support in a reasonable amount of time..... I'm not interested and have better places to send my traffic to.

AK 02-04-2008 11:46 AM

is the site (if any) still active? if so, i would look for more contact info.
if it's down (which explains no traffic being sent) i would put the account inactive.

Most likely a surfer looking for free porn.

Snake Doctor 02-04-2008 12:53 PM

I signed up for programs years ago with email addy's that I no longer have (because the domain expired or was sold etc)

If they're not sending traffic though, I dunno.
I would be pissed if you deleted an account where I had links up for you though.

RyuLion 02-04-2008 01:55 PM

I let them be..and proceed with my biz..

The people I am talking about don't have any links up. They signup with legit URL but for one reason or another their e-mails are bouncing. And since they're not sending any traffic I don't think I should be spending the time to research domain owner's contact info.

With some of these folks I've gone as far as actually writing them a paper based letter and still nothing. I'm thinking delete.

um...he was talking about AFFILIATES that don't respond

not PROGRAMS that don't respond

Jace 02-04-2008 08:11 PM

i would never delete an affiliate unless they violated some part of the TOS

GlamCash did that to me a while back, my emails didn't get answered and I hadn't got around to throwing links up, so they deleted me, because of that I will never send them a hit

they didn't even send out a "hey, this is AFFILIATEREP, just wanted to say hi and see why you aren't sending traffic"...I would have remembered them and maybe moved them up the list...they just sent out a "you haven't sent any traffic and will be deleted son" email..LOL

BVF 02-04-2008 08:21 PM

I'm looking through my secret book of webmastering and if my login no longer works, I normally put a line through their name...I have a line through:

Vivid
Dollarmachine
Scorescash
Largecash
Siccash
Adult Platinum
Supermegacash
Pornaccess

There's a couple of others like ARS and Maxcash but that's on my end...As far as the others, I don't know what in the fuck happened.

Monique Niccole 02-04-2008 08:31 PM

Why would you? It's not really costing you anything to keep them as an affiliate. They may have signed up and not gotten around to developing traffic in your niche yet. Maybe they liked your program but they don't have the right traffic for it yet and then one day you open a new site and they do have the proper traffic for that.

There are plenty of programs where I've signed up but didn't send traffic for one reason or another, but I keep an eye on their program and if something looks like it will work with what I have or a new site I start, I throw some traffic their way.

Seems silly to delete people who aren't violating your TOS but could turn into $$$ for you.

I agree with you BUT lets keep focused.

1. Reseller e-mail bounces 100% of the time.
2. They do not respond to an IM.
3. They do not respond to an actual written letter.

The question is then, is it worth keeping a name and e-mail address in your systems that by all accounts has never been alive?

Have you ever considered the fact that you could be a tad obsessive-compulsive about this whole situation?

Why does it bother you that you can't contact these people?

Aren't there better things you could be spending your time on? (like starting drama on GFY or "would you hit it?" threads?) :winkwink:

This thread is far from drama or anything alike. This is a valid question which was asked to gain some insight from others who might have some experience. No need to over analyze. Simply answer the question if you have an answer. Oh wait, I forgot that this board has nothing to do with actual business. Silly me. :winkwink:

tolik 02-04-2008 11:51 PM

if we cannot contact affiliate via email or im listed in detail - and payout information are wrong (happening very often, btw) we setting payouts to hold while affiliate does not contact us by himself/herself.

Okay, just to clarify, I was calling Andre a dick. But he isn't REALLY a dick. He's actually one of the better people I know in the industry.
