My 2 cents about the Terminated Merchant File (TMF)

You're all fucked. :321GFY

The only thing that will buy you out of this dilemma is money for a sophisticated and tricky financial setup. None of you can keep a chargeback or credit ratio less than 1%. You better hope it never gets enforced to the .001% :winkwink:

Brad

Oh, and god forbid they expect the combined ratio of chargebacks and credits to be anywhere less than 2%. LMAO

Hey! I can still survive off check signups!

I think about that myself.

Generally I am in the .2 to .4 range, but every once and awhile I hit .8, .9. 1.1. Makes me nervous.

I gotta imagine someone like OX is fucked, my chargebacks with them have to be banging around the 5% to 10% region.

You're right Brad... we are fucked. Because it doesn't look like it matters whether you're with 3rd party or on your own.... if you're unlucky enough to get on that file, you are fucked 4 life.

I was expecting one of your legendary 15,000 word posts.

Very disappointing. :)

[Labret] 10-04-2002 02:25 PM

Shit, Im gonna buy up a bunch of shelf corporations just in case.

Honeyslut 10-04-2002 02:28 PM

I am not worried ! :)

Chargeback % Credit % Chargebacks Credits
0.00% 0.00% $0.00 $0.00

I got a contact who can fix tmf problems.. like you are still on the list, but you can get your transactions processed...

Brad Mitchell 10-04-2002 02:51 PM

Unfortunately shelf companies won't help. Every account is personally signed for. So, it's time to line up friends, family and relatives... especially those that will never own their own business.

Doesn't matter what you say about the TMF stuff American Perv, unless you know a lawyer and he works to get the name removed any other way of getting a merchant account is fraudulent or deceiving.

Maybe I'll do one of my 10 or 15 thousand word posts later tonight. Man, I really get going when it comes to merchant accounts... <growl>

Motherfucking Visa is basically it's own sovereign state that answers to nobody and is accountable to nobody. Justice with them is nonexistent.

Porn will survive along with most of us here. However, I think that fundamentally all of us will need to change our expectations on revenue, etc.

Now... time for dinner and a movie! Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheerio,

Brad

smileygirls 10-04-2002 03:01 PM

hmmmm...
Am I missing something?
Why do I only have .002 chargeback ratio?

Guess quality and originality is everything now. :D

andi_germany 10-04-2002 03:02 PM

I maintain a charback ration with CCBill at 0% and with Ibill at 0.4% . Refunds are a whole different subject. I normally refund anyone that is not satisfied or has any technical problem. This is customer care and prevents chargebacks and I think if I add refunds and chargebacks it comes to 2-3% monthly.

I dont want a merchant account, never have, never will.

I imagine, that if I have a site that gets tmfd via ibill or whatever, I re-open shop with a shelf corp, new tax id#, new url, and re-sign up with iBill. Nobody will ever know. Do it properly and nobody ever knows your name and SS#.

Term me now motherfuckers. Sucks for the rebills though.

american pervert 10-04-2002 03:13 PM

brad- its though some ppl in gaming who took care of all those issues for themselves..

but hey, I am just offering help... ya don't want, no skin off my ass...

smileygirls 10-04-2002 03:20 PM

You do not have to have a merchant account to continue working with ccbill if you have US presence, according to ccbill. Am I right?

I think you missed the point -- it don't matter -- VISA will have a file on you anyway if you are processing through CCBill -- and your #'s will be watched independently of CCBill -- and you can be terminated even if you pay the $750 + blah blah blah...

smileygirls 10-04-2002 03:29 PM

Does anyone have access or knowledge of a termination guidelines list?

If you are in keeping with what VISA deems as "ok" and your chargebacks are low, then you are ok, correct?
