What Would You Do If This Happened To You At Hooters?

So Stealthy and I are having some beers at Hooters last night and we decided to order some wings. The wings arrived via our busty hooter waitress and we dug in.

About halfway through the meal, Stealthy starts coughing and spitting out his food. Low and behold what he thought was a breaded wing was certainly not...

IT WAS A FUCKING BREADED NAPKIN!!!!

I shit you not. Some dumbass dropped it in the fryer and then served it to him. Anyways we started laughing our ass off but at the same time were pretty concerned since he had eaten like half of the meal already (not the napkin LOL!)

We told the waitress who quickly removed the napkin showed the manager and threw the napkin in the garbage. The quickly sent over some compensatory beers and we were still pretty freaked out over the whole thing. The guys at the next table gave us their numbers so if we wanted to push this a little futher we would have someone to validate our story.

Anyways we paid in full for the meal and were'nt even compensated for that. What would you guys do in this situation, other than not go back to that Hooters ever again or just stick to beers?

DH

Backov 10-04-2002 12:16 PM

You definitely shouldn't have paid for the meal dude. Would you have paid if it had been something more disgusting in the wings? How do you know that wasn't a USED napkin?

Cheers,
Backov

Amputate Your Head 10-04-2002 12:17 PM

well, seeing as it was a napkin and not a rat or something... why bother with it? Did they at least waive the bill for you?

AaronM 10-04-2002 12:17 PM

Bring a breaded tampon with you next time and see what they do when you pull that out of your basket-o-wings.

Supercharged 10-04-2002 12:19 PM

Now there is a nice warm welcome to Vancouver lol

Were the waitresses at least worth it ? :Graucho

It can only get better from here on in... :thumbsup

HE said they didn't wave the bill...they had to pay for the meals (but got a few free beers)

Nedder 10-04-2002 12:22 PM

They figger as long as a big-titted waitress hands you your vittles, they could serve u fried shit on a stick and you'd eat it.

Cheshire 10-04-2002 12:25 PM

Try keeping your cool when you discover you've just been served a $25 plate of rotton oysters, and the waiter couldn't care less.

At least you had big tits around to distract you :winkwink:

ATL_Ryan 10-04-2002 12:26 PM

Hooters has the worst food on the planet and the service sucks. Your better off going to a strip joint and eating the food there. Plus the girls are actually naked. Titties and Beer:Graucho

TheFLY 10-04-2002 12:27 PM

Hooters is a big rip off... You can spend like $50 and still walk away hungry and not even piss drunk. Last time I went this Asian chick waitress gave us attitude -- she told us to hurry and finish our beers because people were waiting to be seated! Holy shit... The fucking nerve. We should have got her ass fired.

GTS Mark 10-04-2002 12:28 PM

The funniest thing was the waitress was the chick that Brett said did Amateur Porn. Her nametag said "Tabby" and Brett said the chick's name we should ask for was Tabitha.

We were just dying to ask her about it but we thought she might get pissed off. We had a good laugh as we brought up we were adult webmasters and she was very interested in talking about it.

Yes I paid for the bill, I think maybe we got one free round of beers. We are thinking of sending a letter off to Hooters to see if they will do anything about it. Because jeeeez that is pretty sick to think where that napkin would have been. The chef was some kid who was barely 16 and looked like he lived on the street after he finished his cook job. LOL!

Anyways we will see what happens.

Hey I must stick up for my fellow hooter girls...and restaurant...I worked and still do occasionally for Ho0ters for 4 and a half years, and I must say , being that I have always waitressed , while I was in school, it was the cleanest place I have ever worked! I have too agree , they should have comp. your food, but that is the mangers fault , not Hooters. In my honest opinion I would just go back there and ask to speak to the general manager , and they should take care of you. Try that before you do anything further. :)

Well the manager didn't even come over and talk to us. I thought would have been the least he/she could have done.

USED napkin as in the cook blew his LOAD in it...:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Stealthy 10-04-2002 01:00 PM

See, a couple of people noticed the cook was EATING at the fucking grill too! What else was the guy doing? Did he ever wash his hands? DId he wash his hands then use that napkin? They tried to say the wings come prepackaged, but then we find out they bread them themselves, I mean can we say backpedal? So then our waitress comes over with a couple of beers like thats gonna make things all better... I guess she figured putting her arm around me and squishing her silicone into my arm would help, too. Not really. I mean holy shit we didn't even get our bill comped! The manager said NOTHING about it! We didn't make that big a deal out of it, but I'm gonna have a chat with the General manager and if that does nothing then the district manager and if that does nothing I'll write to the president of the company! I mean the waitress tried to downplay the whole thing by saying if there was any bacteria or other nastiness on it the fryer would have killed it. Uh, that's kinda not the point...

I think I'm gonna be sick...

I heard from someone that works at Hooter that they are told to shave the arms.legs and tummys ! And if they don't have big enough tits are advised to wear those gel breasts.

I wouldn't have paid.Mind you I wouldn't have gone to Hooter to eat lol
Did you tip your watress? lol
Anyways you should have complained to the manager.Thats what I would have done. Hell I go into mc dicks and if I get cold fries I take them back and they give you a free meal.

Next time try eating at a place where their a little more intelligent lol

My uncle got a judgment one time for 15k when an idiot did not remove the wrapper before eating his sandwich at some type of deli.

Well a lawsuit is probably a moot point considering the evidence is in the garbage, but we have 2 witnesses we can get in touch with if need be... I'm not in the mood for a big stupid lawsuit, but I think I'm entitled to SOME kind of compensation, that was my first time ever in a Hooters and it'll probably be the LAST.

Well, I work there, and that is not a requirement. No manager nor owner ever said to shave arms, and tummy...I ahve been there 4 1/2 years, not once did any body ever say that.

I agree with you about complaining to the manager.

But as far as the comment, that you made about going some place where they are a little bit more intelligent, I resent that. Most of those girls that work there are putting themselves through school. Talk about sterotyping....geez.

TDF 10-04-2002 02:11 PM

here in Cali a few years back we had a huge Denny's discrimination case in which a few million was distributed to blacks who felt discriminated against in their restaurant. I got a free check..woohooo!!:321GFY

Write a letter of complaint to their home office. Don't use profanity or use insults as they'll just dismiss your letter and tos it in the garbage. Give them the specific detail: time you ate, your problem, the manager on duty, the waitress, etc. The more detailed the better. Explain that you had witnesses who saw the napkin too. Inform them that you are a long time costumer and you will not be eating in their establishments and will urge others to do likewise. Don't get nasty, but be firm.

Also explain that you are going to call your local health department about the incident. I don't know how it is in Canada, but in the states any complaints to the health inspector are taken very seriously. I worked in the restaurant business for several years and can tell you, it can get nasty with health department...and it should. They are serving people and those people deserve to eat without fear of foreignm objects in their food or improperly handled food causing them to be sick.

You actually should inform thehealth department too (or the Candadian equivilant). Who's to say this hasn't been a problem before? If this cook was eating on the line, he could have cross contaminated food and gotten others sick.

Sorry to get off on a rant, but having worked in the industry and had to write several safety and sanitation manuals, so it's a very touchy subject for me....

anyways, just write the corporate office a well written letter and you'd be amazed at the response this can prompt. Try not to sound like you're extorting them, but that you feel they could at least comp the costs of your meal.

Exactly what I intend to do! I hadn't thought of the health board so thanks for mentioning that!:thumbsup Yeah, I agree. I worked in the service industry for a few years myself and calls to the health board are taken VERY seriously! I actually saw the cook pop a few fries in his mouth while working on the linelast night! If I was his supervisor I would have given him ONE warning before suspending him. That kind of behaviour is unacceptable and I do indeed intend to write a well-worded letter to the head office. Forget talking to any managers, I'll just be tossed around from department to department until they try to make me give up.

I used to own and run a food establishment and I could tell you that doing that (putting food into your mouth in the kitchen while working) is a very serious infraction according to the health officials. You are transferring major germs since you work with your hands in preparing the food...In the county in NY where I had my place, we even had to wear disposable gloves to scoop ice to put in drinks.

hershie 10-04-2002 05:33 PM

Oh and BTW, I can't remeber ever hearing of a lawsuit with a huge punitive damage in Canada because of a mistake/delinquency like they have in the US (remember the coffeee spill the customer at McDonalds had at the drive-thru and was awarded tens of millions for her burns). You at least would have to have been seriously hurt/traumatized...to win any compensation I imagine, and even then it would probably be in relation to how much work you missed or doctors bills.

chaze 10-04-2002 05:38 PM

The question is was it a used napkin?

Stealthy 10-04-2002 06:32 PM

I would have been happy if the Manager had apologized and offered to pick up the tab, but they didn't do squat. A couple of beers that could just be written off as spillage just doesn't cut it with me. I didn't make a big deal out of it at the time, but in retrospect I don't like being brushed off either. I'm not filing a lawsuit or anything ridiculous like that, I just want to know that the restaurant actually gives a shit, that's all. I'm not looking for money or free meals for life, (Yes, Hooters food sucks.) just an honest apology and a blowjob. Is that too much to ask?

that, for sure, is the attitude I would take. I would want to see how much respect they would show me if I went back with a cool level head and explained their fuck up. I would expect signifiacant apology and lots of free meal coupons and a letter from the President personally signed. Anything short, and they are a two bit operation.
