Frank Mir Submitting Brock Lesner ***PIC***
http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...botzumrsf7.jpg
The leglock was kinda of loose but since Brock is not use to leglocks on a daily basis he tapped. BTW, did you see all those WWE guys. There egos must have been deflated just a little bit. |
lol that guy is huge but size dont mean shit in that game
|
Big night for us Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu guys.
|
is it just me or the angle of the pic or does Lesner have really small (muslce wise) legs compared to his upper body...
|
he does - look at his lower leg - they're shapely and long like a chick's.
he sure tapped out fast - like he panicked 'oh shit my leg's gonna broke!' |
Doesn't look all that loose to me. He's got his leg triangled and Brocks knee is right on Mirs cup. Once the knee goes past a certain point it's just over.
|
Frank Mir wears a steel muay thai cup.
The last place I want my shin/knee is on that fulcrum, about to snap. It looks like an inverted heel hook/knee bar. |
was a good night last nite UFC81....
can someone explain to me, what Mir did in that fight, does it hurt the ankle, foot, knee or all three or somthing else....??? You can see the inexperience of Brock, he shoudl have come down with the elbows on Mir instead of those lil girly hammer punches..... |
dude got hammered, wonder if he will return
|
I had no idea brock was a ufc fighter until I seen them advertising this on tv the other day. I thought he only did wrestling.

Indeed and Mir has no qualms about breaking your shit. Brock looked good for a noob. Little more experience and he'll be fine. |
Pretty entertaining card last night.

I knew he'd get subbed

Mir did an interview where he stated they were going to home depot to buy wooden dowels for him to break to mimic what he was going to do to Brock's limbs. Vicious. As someone who has been hit with hammerfists, they hurt like fuck. The UFC had to create XXL gloves for Brock, his hands are ham hocks. |
anyone got a vid link?
|
I guess WWE guys should stick to WWE then...

Brock Lesnar ... well... as much as I don't give two fucking shits about this sport ... he's an athlete ... and a good one. He's multi talented ... he's not just 'ex-wwe' ... remember ... WWE does require skill ... you fall wrong, or land a smash in the face at the wrong time, and you're out. People forget that you gotta be damn fit to do that shit.

Lesnar is the real deal, he just inexperienced is all. He will be champ one day.
Mir is former champ so kudos to Lesnar for even taking the fight. Brock proved himself IMO. |
Didn't know there were so many MMA fans here. Any of you train?

The Senator trains, I don't know if he's fought MMA yet, but he's a Purple in BJJ if I'm not mistaken. |

I am competing this weekend Feb 9th. I have a day job(webmaster), train in BJJ about five times a week. BJJ is my workout for the week and it also keeps me centered. |

I re-dedicated myself to BJJ, will be competing at NAGA during the summer and fall. |
One thing that impressed me was how fast Brock's shoot was. He certainly didn't loose a step from his NCAA days in that regard. Might have one of the quickest shoots I've seen from a big man in MMA.
Also, I thought the point deduction by Mazagotti was premature. The rabbit shots were totally unintentional, and resulted from Mir turning into Lesnar, apparently trying for a leg or just covering up. That changed the pace of the fight, and possibly the outcome, in Mir's favor. Haven't seen a point deduction or restart for such a thing in the UFC in a long time I don't think. Verbal warning was all that was required there. |
