Boston Herald breaks a story today that a Patriots employee secretly taped the St Louis Rams' final walkthrough practice before SuperBowl XXXVI

It's all BS. First off, the dude got fired by the Pats and has an axe to grind. Second, taping a team's walkthrough is as useful as giving a fish a bicycle. Don't get fooled into believing otherwise...

i'm not saying it matters - what i'm saying is that the media if the Pats win will begin the hatchet job on Bellicek and the Pats. Not to mention Senator Arlen Spector who wants an investigation into why the NFL had the tapes destroyed.

I know, how fuckin' rediculous is it that a god-damn SENATOR wants to get involved? Idiots.

1. Spector is a "super-fan" - he calls the sports radio station in Philly all the time, not as a senator, but just as a caller
2. When the taping thing first broke, he was all over it, questioning the legitimacy of the Pats win over the Eagles in the Super Bowl.
3. One of his largest contributors is Comcast cable - one of the major companies in the life-or-death struggle between cable and the NFL over the NFL Network.

So he kills two birds with one stone - he rallies political support among the sports fans in his state - and he (thinks he) embarasses the NFL on behalf of a major contributor, right before the NFL's biggest weekend.

Quite a public servant, no?

what the fuck ever...it's a known fact that all NFL teams do it, but they catch the best team in the league doing it...and somehow it fuckin' matters. They still need to go out and play the games.

I hate the Pats but this "spygate" shit is ridiculous. Is is done by all the top coaches and is part of the game. Spector is a publicity seeking idiot.

it seems crazy to me - what authority does Arlen Specter think he has as a US senator to start an inquiry all on his own? the NFL is a private company, as are all its' member teams - what business is it of Specter's even if something shady did happen? it's just not his business. he's calling the commissioner into his office as if he has some power to compel the commissioner to comply.

ha - i'm just listening to him now - he's bitching about an Eagles game that might have been compromised. he's off his rocker I think, it's making him look silly.
