The only thing Sylvia has going for him is his size, his skill as a fighter is quite weak. Someone with his size and skill to match would/should dominate that division. Most of the fights that I have seen him win were because he could hold them off with jabs and once his opponent started to get tired out he would basically smother them with his size and get a submission/decision/etc.
I think that is one of the reasons why Randy wanted to fight him. He saw Sylvia's weaknesses and trained accordingly in order to capitalize on them when no one else could. I think you will be seeing a lot more losses from Sylvia in the future. Once his opponents figure out how to take his size advantage away from him like Randy did, and now with this loss against Nogueira his time as a UFC fighter could be limited. Although it's really hard to predict the outcome of fights in that weight class as most of the fighters have heavy hands with fight stopping knockout power, one mistake and it's all over. That though is part of the excitement of the sport.
