Microsoft bids $44.6 Billion to buy Yahoo!
http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=7848&tag=nl.e589
Microsoft said Friday that it is making an unsolicited offer of $31 a share, or $44.6 billion, to buy Yahoo in a move that would give the software giant more market share and become a significant threat to Google. Damn. That's a pretty hefty bid! But what would become of Yahoo if M$ corrupted it? |
i hope it doesn't happen.
|
seen the headlines as well, sounded strange to me, but they surely know better
|
Yahoo stock up 49% :helpme
|
that is some severe trouble for the adult industry IMO. I can only imagine how they would start fucking up the results.

try ro keep up. |
Yahoo + Microsoft = Not even close to google.
Google is The ONE! |
HONESLTY this is bad for webmasters!
|
FUCK! I just said to a friend a few days ago that Yahoo! stock looked like a good buy. I need to listen to myself and buy. I could have made 10K by selling right now on just a 1000 stocks. Could have, should have........
|
Wish I purchased google stock when they went on the market. Whats it now 800 ?
|
That doesn't sound too good actually...
|
Thought this was interesting,
"breaking news" on msnbc website: "Justice Department 'interested' in reviewing Microsoft's offer for Yahoo" Not surprising a buy that big would garner govt. attention I guess. |
Hmm ain't that something
|
Holy @#$% batman, the rumor came true!
|
That is a huuuuge acquisition. To put that into perspective, if Microsoft were to sink that $44 billion into the adult industry, they would be able to afford to buy everything. I'm talking EVERY single paysite, every single sponsor program, free site, TGP, MGP, link list, tube site, adult dating site, and every adult entertainment company on the planet, with plenty of money to spare.
|
Yahoo is fucked.
MS is gonna tank it like everything else they touch. |

M$ will help save that flailing company.. Y! has been on a downward spiral from some time now. You can expect to see the Yahoo UI library go balls to the walls with M$ backing it.. if nothing else, Microsoft has always fostered strong development communities.

No way they are valued at 500 when yahoo is at 30. It's just fad people, sell google and BUY Yahoo stocks. I will bump this thread three years from now. :thumbsup |
BAD for adult webmasters, we all know MSN/live does not allow adult ads. If they buy yahoo the same policy could be put in place and say good bye to your yahoo ppc traffic.
|
Yeah and the news is that Yahoo is cutting over 1,000 jobs this month. Sounds pretty hairy.

Seriously, just sell them and wait.. I had buy Yahoo's now. :thumbsup |
Hmm I should of bought more yahoo.
|
After hearing a few things on the topic, I think Microsoft's ready to enter the search engine market full-force, and by buying Yahoo.com, they're pretty much narrowing down the competition to just one main competitor instead of having two.
|
I wonder what would change if Microsoft did buy Yahoo.
|
Intresting
|
you mongoloids should have stayed in school at least until the class on antitrust laws.
that deal will never happen. as it is google is about to get its tits clipped for antitrust. stay in school kids, you never know when you will need that stuff. |

quote from the article
"The Justice Department also said it would be interested in reviewing the antitrust implications of the offer, and analysts expect other enforcement agencies to follow suit." thats all that matters. |

this sounds very fishy indeed
|
That would be perfect match really.

Wonder what they would do with MSN

How is it anti-trust? They could say that to compete with the behemoth Google has become they need to be just as big and that will only happen if they merge.

Now THERE'S something I'd rather like to see..! :thumbsup My intuition/whatever-you-wanna-call-it tells me Microsoft *needs* to land that deal, or they have a lot of downsizing to do ahead. |
