Everytime it asks about a disk clean up, i let it run and next thing i know it deletes a few of the last months of emails from my inbox.

what is a better solid email program, this really pisses me off

I've moved to GMail so I can access my mail from anywhere and haven't looked back since. I'd recommed Outlook for you but I don't know if you want to pay for an e-mail program. The other, free, alternative is Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/).
