Your favourite ballads - here is my selection

Well we all are trying to play it tough and I suppose you'll agree with me that many so called "ballads" are just a cheap way to get teen female listeners to buy your priceless shit.

BUT

There are songs that are killing it, especially if you grow older, you're becoming softer, you have gone through shit yourself, and there are times you realize you are no more this badass guy and in between the wild times, sometimes, you have a sensitive moment, starting to take a couple of things in life that you always refused to more seriously.

MY FAVOURITES:

1) Layla - Derek and the dominos - you can feel everything you should feel from that song

Here is a live take from Eric (meaning the SLOWHAND):

2) Still in love with you - Thin Lizzy - live version 1978 is fucking hunting me

Here is the killing live take:

3) Jane's Addiction - Jane Says

- this song, related to the environment where I settled down for the past three years, just keeps up with the issues it raises

Here is another live take as far as Jane's were one of the best live bands of their era - 1997 concert reunion with Flea on bass:

Put in some more!

I'll play:

Gram Parson's version of Wild Horses:

Unfortunately, just a fan vid.

You nailed me with your comment after the "BUT" btw :winkwink:

Well Wild Horses is definitely a good one, from the other covers I really liked the Paris 1992 version from Guns n Roses.

Jane Says is a Ballad?

I really had an idea of what to put here, like Jim Croce's "Photographs and Memories", but what the deuce?

I actually got corrected today that by definition these are the "Power ballads" ..

Yeah, and not to forget the :Don't Cry - featured on the first tape I ever bought "Use Your Illusion I" way back in 1991..

Hell it's exactly a few days I played the whole record in a car once again.. can't say I wouldn't enjoy that.
