As people lose faith in paper currency the demand for hard currency like gold was bound to increase. Happens every time. I heard one European friend of mine refer to the Dollar as the American Peso. Ouch!

I read some study and there was a statment that you could buy "same things" for one ounce 2000 years ago as today. So as store of value its better then holding a buck under mattress :-)

I am pretty ignorant when it comes to this subject: How do you buy gold online? Is it like buying currency or stock? Is it kept somewhere in a bank or something?
