Where to find good coders
 

I am having a hard time to find a good part time coder or freelancer. I have been trying places like scriptlance, but I just happen to get spammed by Indian and East Asian outsourcers who have no idea what they are talking about. Anybody know other places where to find good and reliable coders. I would prefer East Europeans or Russians.

So you have enough knowledge to know that the ones you found don't know what they are talking about, but you can't do "part time coding" yourself and the only people who know what they are talking about are "East Europeans or Russians" but none of them are even talking to you.

Maybe the East Europeans or Russians read your request and decided that you don't know what you are talking about.

Americans are fine, but in this case they are way to expensive. Quote from their site: Our current rates are $160 per hour for programming and consulting.

And your solution was to go cheap and then complain that the people you got didn't know what they were talking about.

Hmmm, you seem to be very smart. It is just that many of the market places on the web are dominated by spammers that send offers for things that you do not ask for. Like I ask for coding work and get spammed from people who try to sell me SEo, etc.

I have given tons of coding jobs away over the past 10 years and always made the best experience with people that come from countries with Slavic background. I am from this area myself and find it easy to communicate with them. I am fine with Spanish, Japanese, American ... or whatever. I have no prejudice against any nationality, but prices need to be competitive and the quality of programing needs to be good and reliable.

find one in your local newspaper and hire him fulltime. thats what i did after one disaster after the other

Unfortunately, I can not do this. I travel all the time. Wanna hook up for a pivo this weekend. I will be in town :-)

I am looking for companies that will do that for me. Most adult related outsourcing companies are able to provide decent people for graphic arts, submitting, writing, etc, but not for coding :-( I have 8 outsourced employees already, but they are mostly submitters and artists.
