If you haven't seen Rambo...

You're missing out big time! It was awesome!

LilBro 01-30-2008 07:05 AM

does it end that there could be a 5th installment????

alby_persignup 01-30-2008 07:17 AM

really? gotta look for some rambo DVD.

martinsc 01-30-2008 07:18 AM

can't wait to see it ;-)

L-Pink 01-30-2008 07:19 AM

In a deep slightly retarded voice ... "eh Adrian, suck my cock"

Evil Chris 01-30-2008 07:40 AM

I'm surprised. I have heard multiple feedback that it's quite good.

JamesK 01-30-2008 07:43 AM

I'm surprised at the IMDB rating. It's probably one of the highest rated action movies. Gotta check it out soon :)

SayWhut 01-30-2008 08:07 AM

Cheers for the heads up.

Has Stallone learnt how to act yet?

bronco67 01-30-2008 08:36 AM

It was a nice, gritty little action movie. The last 10 minutes was obviously an homage to the Wild Bunch. Sam Peckinpah would be proud.

Strickie 01-30-2008 08:38 AM

You mean "Grambo" :)

CaptainHowdy 01-30-2008 08:41 AM

Looks brutal for what I've seen...

SayWhut 01-30-2008 08:42 AM

Is his face still made out of plastic like in Rocky Balboa?

pornask 01-30-2008 08:49 AM

worst movie you will have seen in a long time. Stallone cowrote and directed it. That gives you an idea of how pathetic it must be right there...

minddust 01-30-2008 09:41 AM

Brother Bilo 01-30-2008 09:43 AM

Oh man, I can't wait to see it. My brother saw it and he said the wasn't a quiet person in the theater. Everyone in the theater was cheering and yelling and shit. Almost like the Rocky Horror Picture Show of badass.

I think he co-wrote all of the Rambo movies. Just like how he wrote all of the Rocky movies

Rambo wasn't joking in the first one when he said "NOTHING IS OVER, NOTHING!!!!!!!!

boneprone 01-30-2008 10:05 AM

Nothing beats the first Rambo.

This one is better than the third, but not the first.

DaddyHalbucks 01-30-2008 10:06 AM

Does it have a plot? Or is it just non-stop explosions and violence?

SykkBoy 01-30-2008 10:07 AM

I loved it
a pure unabashed blow shit up type movie

uno 01-30-2008 10:23 AM

does he have any other old franchises he could make?

it has a plot that a 4 years old would be ashamed off. Most cliched and overused plot ever. There's some shit going on in the war zone and those people need help, so they seek John Rambo. He makes an attempt to resist because that's how they do it in movies, but eventually gives up to his lust for war that's in his blood and then he saves everybody. Crappiest story line ever. A movie that fails in absolutely every single aspect of movie making.

yeah well, David Morrell wrote the first one, so no wonder it kicked ass :2 cents:

This Rambo was great too though, lots of graphic violence, killing, torture.. it was a righteous rampage of.. well, Rambo proportions! lol

I was raving about it afterwards and my daughter said I sounded totally sadistic LOL

Danny_C 01-30-2008 10:52 AM

I really liked the new one. It's crazy how bad the reviews are versus the word of mouth.

D 01-30-2008 10:55 AM

I'm gonna wait for DVD.

It's Rambo, what kind of plot does it need? Who the fuck would go to a Rambo movie expecting any kind of legitimate storyline or plot?

You are missing the whole point of this movie. Stop thinking like a critic and think like man. Storylines and plots only get in the way of pure carnage and destruction. Try having fun with movies instead of being some kind of uptight critic. Sometimes a movie that flat out kicks ass without concerning themselves with the "standards" of movie making is just a good time.

Lighten up.

It's not like that. It's about the fact that you don't have to go see Rambo 4 and you will have seen Rambo 4. It's the same movie that has been done half million times. Hence nothing to make you go "wow". Every single minute is embarrassingly predictable and disappointment never fails. You know exactly when he's gonna reject the offer, you know how they're gonna counter it, you know when he gets separated form the group, you know when the group is on the fringe of getting killed, you know when he shows up form out of nowhere and eliminates every bad guy. The most pathetic movie ever created. Seriously. You all have seen Rambo 4 regardless of whether you have seen it or not. This same movie has been filmed half million times before. Nothing to impress you in it. Absolutely nothing hands down.

Hey D, this flick is worth catching on the big screen! The only thing I was disappointed with was that it seemed really short.

But you're still missing the point. The point of this movie isn't to impress and wow the audience with edge of your seat suspense and suprises around every corner. Of course it's predictable, they are all pretty much predictable, as is just about every movie that comes out in the last few years.

This is the movie you go see with your buddies, maybe you drink, maybe you don't, and have fun with the explosions, and violence, unbelievably unrealistic action that only Rambo can produce.

If you go into watching this movie knowing that they don't have any kind of plot, then there is nothing to be disappointed about when it doesn't appear. Just go there for the action like everyone else.

totally, especially for the head shots and the blowing bodies to pieces.. you just have to have the big screen effect to fully appreciate the carnage!!

and yeah, this won't win an oscar for the storyline/script, but it really doesn't matter, it's Rambo after all, and the body count more than makes up for it :winkwink:

Does Stallone owe you money or did he fuck your sister or some shit? You sound like you have a serious bone to pick with him. If you actually did see it, then it sounds like you just can't enjoy a simple little action movie with some exploding guts and things that go boom. It takes a really smart person to know when to check their brain at the door.

And if you think that a complicated plot is the only thing that makes a good movie, then you probably didn't like Full Metal Jacket, or Goodfellas, or the Deer hunter.

"It had no plot!" is the lamest cristicism of a movie. Some of the greatest films of all time don't have much of a plot, just a good narrative.

CamDoughCommando 01-30-2008 01:51 PM

I'll watch it, wtf?

DocYall 01-30-2008 02:07 PM

Brother Bilo knows the right way to appreciate a Rambo movie.
:thumbsup

I have seen a lot of action movies over many years and I have never seen carnage like in this Rambo movie.

And definitely well worth the big-screen experience.

LuckyMax 01-30-2008 02:31 PM

love this movie

Exactly! I'm glad someone's picking up what I'm puttin down.

Action movies have never been big on story. Most of them are pretty much cookie cutter plot/storyline projects. The success of an action film isn't based on storyline, it's based on how many people die and how fucked up they die. That's it.

Same as movies like Superbad or American Pie. Coming of age teen comedy's having changed since the days of Animal House and Porkys, but that doesn't make them any less funny.

Just have take the thinking cap off for a couple hours.
